What colour were RAF/RN FAA cockpits in 1945?

From what has commented on here when I got it wrong  Interior Green for most of them BUT Hawker had started using black

Don't know if it's true or just another fiction, but I had heard that the Wilkes brothers at Rover bought up huge quantities of surplus RAF interior green in 1948  and used it as the default colour for the first Landrover.   Nice story, accurate or not.

I have seen the prototype, and yes IIRC that's correct.  Wasn't just surplus interior green that was bought up, either - not just Rover, either.

There were a lot of drab (sic) cars and motorcycles around back then...

Yup, black or very dark grey sometime in the mid-war period.

I've also seen photos of cockpits where they appear to have (remember these were b/w) interior green for the upper portion and natural metal/painted aluminium ? for the lower.

To be honest I stick with interior green unless it's a real world build and I have evidence to the contrary, because I like it
