A Japanese supplied Zero sits on an airstrip in North Africa, waiting for its Luftwaffe pilot to take it up on the next mission. The Japanese victory in the Pacific, pushing the US forces back to the American coast has freed up the Nippon war machine to supply their allies in the theater with the nimble fighter.

As evidenced by the kill markings on the rudder, the german pilot finds it a MOST suitable mount........

Wow...nice job on such a wee little kit ! Nice idea, too.......with a few more heavy hitting a/c, I'm sure the war in the Pacific could have went just that way !

That's also the first time I've seen a zzZero in Luftwaffe colours, and it looks rather nice !

And is that a custom made sandpaper base ? Another neat idea !

Cheers !

Thanks for the comments, but I have to fess up and admit that this is the chase model out of the Popy Project Flieger Series 2 set. It is 1/144 scale and comes prepainted, all you have to do is glue on the undercarriage and drop tank, though that was a trial as several pieces went ballistic and had to be searched for on the floor......

To give it scale, this is it sitting on my computer...

I basically just sat it on top of a HLJ box with one of the flak guns that are included as extras in one of the other aircraft boxes in the set. It is incredibly finely detailed and makes a great display piece with 1/144 scale aircraft.

So there you go, a manufacturer doing a straight from the box "What If?"

Who would have thunk it?

I bought a few boxes of 12 from HLJ for $35 a box and got a Zero in each (they are packed random, like trading cards) so these effectively cost about $4 each with postage.... :P

When I opened this topic at work this morning, all I saw were "user posted image" lines. I'm home now, and can see the images. It's probably been a glitch of the proxy server at work. Sorry.
