Been a while since I finished a whiff and this one was a review kit so double bang for the buck.

This is the Zoukei-Mura 1/72nd scale Ho 229.  The kit comes with both a 72nd and 1/144th kits in the box but I let another reviewer do the smaller bird.
Decided on the easy paint scheme and didn't want it to be a nightfighter so called it a prototype.  The actual prototype was a glider.

The 72nd scale kit comes with the full interior just like it's bigger brothers though that wasn't as much fun in this small scale.
To read the full review and see more pics you can check it out here https://web.ipmsusa3.org/content/horten-ho-229-set-part-2.

Here are a few of the pics:

Possibly an unnecessarily and excessively complex kit.  looks good though.  Well done.

I'd thought about buying one of these.  Your review has changed my mind,  My wallet thanks you.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Beatifull model, especially the detailed iternal construction.
I noticed, that the pilot is seasted in line of the compressors.  A blade departure (not uncommon in jet engines) would be fatal.

BOTH scale kits in the same box? That must be a first, surely?

It looks WILDLY complicated, just like their 1/32 version, but at that price I guess it has to be. Or the other way round.....

Nice job you made of it anyway. No, an EXCEPTIONAL job.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Absolutely agree

I've always had the feeling that Zoukei-Mura have their own band of dedicated disciples in a similar way to WNW ? Often wonder what they build in the down time between new kit releases. They do look good though as do WNW.

I can understand who it appeals to, those who like a project.  Something to keep them going for weeks or months at an end and have the staying power.

These expensive kits might actually be economical in that respect, providing you can keep the retail therapy down to match!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I can spend hours building in detail on the underneath of a 1/25 car that only I will really appreciate so I can understand why people will build these.
Not for me though, not in 1/72.

Similar to me when I was painting/could paint 15mm wargames figures I suppose.

A cheaper alternative to the 32nd scale one and ZM seem to produce good quality kits. I might just have to pick one of these up for myself
