I was under the impression that the British only operated F-35As.  Wasn't there a kerfuffle a few years back about the Queen Liz being converted to operated F-35Cs until someone pointed out the cost and the unavailability of the C? :banghead:

Nope, the B version was the original plan, then someone suggested that as the QE Class carriers had been built with CATOBAR capability but none of the vital moving parts installed they could operate As or Cs.

Then sanity prevailed and they went back to the Bs, for which BAe and Rolls Royce already build much of the parts here anyway.

They could still convert the carriers later on, so who knows where it will all end?
