Thanks Ratty & Cap!

Thanks for the input, Chris. I'll probably go the zinc chromate look for the internals but the cockpit ... I dunno, for some reason interior green & black aren't doing it for me.

I'm thinking more along the lines of olive green or one of the brownish olive drabs, or, even, a medium grey (neutral grey or similar).

Oh, well, about 8 hours to go before I break out the airbrush, we'll see where I go between now & then. :-\

Most of my RAN and RAAF builds end up with the cockpits in Vallejo Golden Olive.  Sometimes with a coat of Vallejo Green Zinc Chromate over the top as a semi opaque wash.

However, think about cars.  Even in 'straya with its sun and heat and UV they still tend to have mainly black or dark grey interiors.
Maybe you should give it a dash mat.  And a set of venetians on the rear part of the canopy?   ;D

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Just to keep things ticking over while I'm painting & building the cockpit:

Outer wings attached to inner wings;

Still a lot of PSR to do on them & the observant will have noticed that I forgot to fit the Recognition Lights (aft of the starboard main gear well). I'll need to either use my long thin forceps to fit them in place or wimp out & use some Clear Fix. However, given the amount of PSR to come, this may be a good thing.

Slowly but surely ... Actually, externally, it has healed but if I bump, or put pressure on the scar the wrong way I get a dull, stabbing pain (if that makes sense). [shrug].

I know exactly what you mean - I have that after moving a really heavy fridge a few months ago: I had a small but deep cut on my finger as well. I suspect it means we have both severed a nerve or something...

I cut a finger de-icing my fridge the other week. Could of almost called it a razor cut, load of blood et al, but it took an age to heal. I put it down to increasing age  :-\ Oddly it seemed to heal more efficiently when I gave up with the sticking plasters ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That's what superglue was invented for......  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Once the rush of gore has subsided, I too find that cuts heal quicker without plasters.  As to de-icing, little sister has a large chest freezer in the garage.   She (all 5 foot and half inch of her) knows exactly why they are called chest freezers.....especially when you reach the bottom of them.  She also says she feels as though she needs someone close to grab her ankles and pull her to safety if she overbalances.

End of thread drift.  As to the Sea Wallaby, it's an interesting concept on which a fine start has been made.

Pain has mostly gone, now, & the scar is barely visible, so all is good!

[Touch Wood] It appears that the sacrifice has worked, too ... Well, mostly. [Touch Wood]

Thanks, Rheged!

More plastic butchery ... & a little surgery ... has been undertaken &, although I've made a few marking errors, the fit of parts isn't obscene. I'm working on the rear fuselage & tail, while I have a little mojo fail on the cockpit, & think about how to deal with the issues causing the mojo issues.

Mojo has not failed, except where the cockpit is concerned, & I'm slowly figuring out what to do about that as I work on the other bits.

Had to cut 15mm from the length of the fuselage. How I had it was w-a-y too long but this has allowed me to fix something that I seem to recall being a fault with the Fw.190, the too narrow tail-end of the fuselage which, from memory, had a tendency to tear off very easily with even relatively minor damage.

The CA-14 Sea Wallaby is going to be slightly chunkier at the rear end but not hugely so.

Needs a couple more rounds of PSR, then I'll put up a photo.

I need to get back onto the cockpit, too, as I need to get it on the plane so I can cut off the nose, fit the engine mounts, built & fit the new engine, & build the new nose around it.

(I will be trying to include the Fw.190's cooling fan in the design.)

I've not tried making scale fluffy dice.  I might try it on the next 1/25 car I complete.  Although I don't know where i'd hang them as I never fit the rear view mirror.
