That definitely looks very buildable.  One of those you'd think was a whiff.

Perfect for taunting JMNs when/if the shows start up again.

Excellent fodder.  I've had an idea for the  SIGs for years that I've never given vent to.  The "Join the Dark Side and Get a Free Cookie" contest.  The idea is to sneak a real world machine wolf into the flock of whiff sheep and get the interested folks to work it out - and bait the JMN's...

The  UK SIG did this some years back with an RAF Yak-9, it was fun trying to flush it out.  It'd be good as regular feature.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I've planted my 92 Sdn Lightning F2A into a row of Whiffed Lightnings sometimes, mainly because I just saw it in the box and it conned ME as well!  :o

Shouldn't that be a "real world machine sheep into the flock of whiff wolves" ?  ;D
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Did that once with a real world Airfix Swift. It appeared in a 2sqn RAF line up on our stand at a Tyneside show along side a Lightning PR-2A and an RF-4E

Would it be worth doing it more regularly Martin, maybe getting a good collection of real world oddities?  It might be a way of getting people interested (read: subverted)?

Lightning PR.2A?  Any chance of a pic?

RW RAF Yak-9 - which show was that (any pics)?  Asking as I built one a while ago and curious to see how they're similar or may differ.

As for 'Trojans', IIRC I had two Italian Bf109s on the SIG table a few Telfords ago.  One whif the other not.  Peeps assumed they were both whifs.

Mr Bagnall's Spitfires could be snuck into a RW Spitfire display unnoticed, some very subtle whiffery from him I must say.

Maybe Telford 21 would be an opportunity to spoof JMNs by only having obscure RW builds on the table, no whifs.

You can be SO devious at times Dave.  ;D

An interesting take on that could be a section for those models we thought were Wiff's only to find out that they weren't. Would mostly be a case of "Oh, you mean the xxxxx AF actually had one of them on trial".
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Things people don't expect:

Yugoslavian Air Force actually had a couple of Folland Gnats.
RAF flew B-45 Tornados.
USAF had Mig-21s.
SdKfz half tracks were converted by the RAF as fire trucks.
Germany flew captured B-17s.

Now 2-seat Yugoslav Gnats would be good JMN fodder, given Yugoslavia had a pair of single-seaters as Nick says.  Finnish 2-seaters too, as they never had two seaters.

Real world:
- Greece trialled a Fiat G91.
- RAF operated ex-Norwegian He115s during WW2, IIRC some in German colours.
- RAF operated Ju52s in Germany immediately following WW2.  The airframes subsequently went to BEA, IIRC.
- plethora of Soviet aircraft tested by USAF, not just MiG-21s.

You might imagine other service vehicles built the same way. Fueller? Aircraft tug? Armoured one with an early foam gun or used for "firefighters in, survivors out"?

Done.

Do you know what's in my display cabinet right now?  ;D

I'm sure it was on the SIG table at Telford in 2015.
