Touring the last T28 / T95 heavy tank before the big move at NACC Ft. Benning

Known to all in WoT (and apparently WT) as the DOOM TURTLE
The F-106- 26 December 1956 to 8 August 1988

What an awesome machine!  :o Even if it does only do 8 mph....

Does anyone do a model kit of it?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I assume that this mighty device has a lot in common with the  Tortoise heavy assault tank (A39), as noted on Wikipaedia.

That it does.  And same purpose- blow a hole into the Siegfried Line, fall back and let the "lighter" forces exploit said gap.

Crew positions and interior features of the last T28 / T95 American superheavy tank

And apparently between the last video and this, the NACC attached the outer suspension assemblies

Here's some still pics of attaching the outer track assemblies from Sofi's Twitter feed. They used two M88A2 recovery vehicles to do the job.

Only because the T28 was sans engine & gearbox, it's supposed to be able to drop the units off, then drive up on either side to attach them. :thumbsup:.

I'm sure he has carried out a full Job Safety Analysis and written a Safe Work Method Statement.

The bloke in the black jacket is the WH&S advisor who has made sure he is nice and close so he gets an eyeful (literally).
