Just finished this , kit is the airfix de haviland Heron fitted with  jetstream  engines and  resin  tucano  propellers.  The engines were a near perfect  fit on to the wings, and only  needed a  little sanding.  The aircraft is an  RAF  in service  personnel transport  based in the middle east circa 1968

You've  made a great job of that Chris, it looks really plausible.

Thankyou Kit, I  quite enjoyed the  build  so it made up for the T.188 mess at least.  I am  surprised how well the  engine pods fitted too, its ad though they were meant to  go on.

Really good looking finished model Chris!  ;D
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

That does look good if somewhat overpowered.
I think Saunders, with their ST-27/28 got it right with just two engines.

Is this really a whiff?  I'm sure I've seen pictures of this aircraft in an RAF yearbook.

It's superb, well done.

I think a company  did put turbo prop engines on one or several of these, I  vaguely remember seeing pictures of one. Without  looking it may be on the idea bank  as I  put this build as an idea  on there. I  think  it should  get to where it  needs to much quicker  now, and you can't have too much  horsepower

With that amount of power it would almost be take off vertically!  ;D

That's the Saunders ST-27/28 that JayBee mentions above, and they made 12 of them, so there were quite a few of them.

The biggest operator was Atonabee Airways, here in Ontario, they had 9 of them. Often saw them at YYZ.

Cheers  kit, now I think about it, I  looked up  what  engines they  put on it, and cross referenced  what else used  that engine.  That is how I  found out that the jetstream engines would  in theory  fit. And they did.  Sometimes I can  remember what I have done, but only  sometimes  ;D ;D
