As requested by Kit, more pics of this build - fresh out of the display case.

Way back when, probably about 2006ish, when I rediscovered the joy of building models I set out to build a decade of satin black 1950's Chevrolets (1950 to 1959).  For 1958, inspired by a RW car I saw in Hot Rod magazine (a 1950's Hudson body on a NASCAR chassis) I took a 1/25 AMT '58 Impala body and mated it to a 1/24 Monogram Chevrolet Monte Carlo (I think) NASCAR chassis.

Wheelbase was IIRC pretty close and I think I just had to relocate the suspension mounts slightly.  I even managed to retain the AMT kits opening doors.

Interior is stock NASCAR kit converted to RHD and with the original single seat replaced by a pair of resin sports seats with Eduard PE belts.

Engine is a carburetted Chevy V8 straight  from the NASCAR box.

I have also used one of these chassis (a Ford version) under a Nissan Cherry body.  That one had to be shortened.  I took some pics today of that which i'll put up tomorrow.
I have built up one of the Monogram NASTruck kits OOB (albeit with a different paint job) but not one of the NASCARs.  I have on vin the stash and one day will get to it and put together a race car sponsored not by tobacco but by Organic Marijuana Cigarette makers (and zenrat industries subsidiary) High Lights.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

ALRIGHT!

That's stupendous Fred, I love it!

And those are some SERIOUS traction bars you have on there, most impressive.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
