Here is my first entry into the "Captured GB".  Backstory is in the build thread in the GB area, but the quick and dirty version is it's a Lear 35A that was damaged by a SAM in the Falklands War.  It limped into Stanley a few days before the British forces liberated it.  It became one of several Argentine aircraft to be captured and brought home to serve with British forces.  The Royal Navy managed to claim this one as an "Admiral's Barge" transport on the grounds that it was a RN Sea Dart that crippled it in the first place.  In RN service it was called the Learjet CC.1, but nicknamed "Evita" for obvious reasons.

Kit is the old Hasegawa 1/48 one which went together nicely, though it's a bit lacking in detail.

My plan was to have the door open, but it really didn't want to be coaxed open so rather than risk damaging the paint around it I decided to leave it closed.  There's not much to see anyway.   The white is Tamiya Pure White from a rattle can, the blue is a mix of Vallejo Signal Blue and Deep Sky mixed to match the roundel blue as close as I could eyeball it.  Topcoat finish is Tamiya Semi-Gloss clear.  Wing and tail anti-ice areas and the windshield frame are bare metal foil, nacelle anti-ice lips were done with a Molotov chrome pen.   Virtually no weathering other than a light wash on the landing gear since she would be kept nice and clean for the Top Brass.

So here she is Royal Navy Learjet CC.1 "Evita" c.1990

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

That is really cool!
I have a Cessna Citation that would benefit from a similar treatment.

That really looks the business AD, you've made a superb job of it.

And the backstory is SO plausible too.   ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit
