it makes sense.  In the 30s didnt the rail companies have an air service?

I could see the flying saucers doing the same, except fly from Alphe Centuri to London Gatwick Space and Rail portal at light speed then take 90mins to go the 50miles to Littlehampton...

I am struggling with the concept of British Rail in-flight catering.  It was bad enough on a train...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

You obviously never travelled on the old Pullman's ? It was very good on those, but yes catering on the average commuter or distance journey was abysmal. Much better on some of the privatised/re-nationalised lines, but some still manage to keep to the old traditional standards

If they struggled  to find a material  strong enough for  the outer hulls of the spacecraft, they could  simply scale up the pastry  case they used for their pork pies in the 70'and 80's  ;D

Shhhhhhhh - it was the commute on the train from Waterloo to Chobham that gave someone the idea  ;)
