That turned out well!
Agreed that the photos would benefit from better light. See if you can make a diorama with a runway in snow ...

I didn't plan for it.... but I finished this the same day the NASA Mars rover touched down! How cool is that?! ...

Put that down to perseverance... ;)

This is excellent,  It looks like a bought one.

Bearing in mind the trials and tribulations suffered in getting to the final result "perseverance" is very apt.

Excellent model and thoroughly deserving the Whiffie nomination

I want to nominate this for a Whiffie, but I can't find the blasted 2022 Whiffie thread anywhere!!!!!  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

[Later] I found it, but the thread title is spelt wrong, 'Whiffies' has no 'h' in it in the title.  :banghead: :banghead:

Mea Culpa I'm afraid Kit. I've corrected it now

FANTASTIC! That just looks natural, everything works. The fit, the look, everything.  Brilliant idea at the start, and a well-executed finish!    :drink:

Magic stuff Chris, thanks very much.

Steel Penguin

that is very, very splendid
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Damn, y'all, thanks!!!!   Glad everyone likes it. It is ULTRA BRIGHT outside. wall to wall sun, no clouds, and snow everywhere making it as bright as it can ever get unless I'm standing in the middle of a mirror array... so.......   better, outside pics are on the nose.

Wow... what a nightmare. First I went outside but the snow was too deep to reach my normal place for pictures. Then I noticed one of my outside faucets busted! It was supposed to be a frost-free type but the plumbers only made it LOOK like one of those but it was just a typical valve at the top of a riser. I got lucky and it was the valve itself, right on top, that was busted and I got really lucky again when I found a new faucet in my shop. Wrong size though! So then I went looking around and got extremely lucky AGAIN by finding the appropriate 1x3/4 bushing. OK, great... then I found that someone has apparently ran off with my water key so I had to use BOLT CUTTERS to turn off the main water supply. All this crap was finally finished then back to pictures.... by now I have my boots on and dressed for winter so I was going to go to my normal picture spot but.. NOW it's late in the day and it was in shade! So I had to run around to the other side of the house and barely managed to get THESE:

Sheesh! They always fight the hardest at the end. The yellow paint crazing, multiple sets of letters going bad, the picture taking fiasco. Holy crap, man!  ;D ;D

I'm very happy with it, though! Nice and bright.

One of those days huh?

The low angle sunlight works in its favour.  Pics look good.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Well I like the look of it! ;D Well done!
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

I've just realised what that extended nose reminds me of : XB-70 Valkyrie. Give it canards  ;)

It's not very often we have models photographed on a layer of SNOW!  :o

But it looks great.
