Yeah, but how many searches do I have to do to find something these days?

The demise of the LHS, caused by Big Business, has meant that it's almost impossible to find what you want WHERE you want.

Just delivered by the postie,

On Pre-order from Hannants
1 x 1/72 KP Avia S-199 "Sakin". This is the AZ Bf109G with an extra sprue with the fuselage, propeller and all the lumps and bumps needed to make the S-199 version.

Two ebay win's also turned up
1 x 1/72 Matchbox Westland Lysander, to be whiffed with another item I am expecting to turn up some time.
1 x 1/72 Rotor Craft RC-72002 Westland Whirlwind HAS. Mk.9 conversion set. It was a bit pricey but I still paid less including the postage than Whirlykit sell them for without postage. Bit's of the set will be used as a guide to build my own conversion parts that I don't have to do a Mk.9.

Got home from a few days away for work and found a nice pair of KMC 1/48 Tiny Tim rockets that will hang from the wings of the Aleutian Anti-Shipping Hellcat I'm finally getting back to.

That sounds interesting  Looking forward to the colour scheme in particular

From the Big H via Royal Mail.

Another Airfix new tool 1/72 Spitfire Vc. I've seen an interesting scheme for a Colombo based Hurricane which will suit it I think.

The only bits of the Airfix Spit' that are disappointing are the wheels IMHO, so I got some Eduard Brassin ones to go with it and they look amazing  Sounds daft I know, but I feel you do notice the wheels on a Spitfire for some reason ?

Also in the same box I got a selection of Peewit masking sets, mainly for FAA WWII types which had a lot of canopy framing

Oooh, could you PM/e-mail more on the Columbo Hurri scheme please, Chris?  Personal real-world interest.

Because they retract outwards the wheels are always on view when they're on the ground, whereas with most other types, Hurricane, Mustang, Fw-190, Zero etc, they're covered by the wheel doors?

Yeah, I know the Me-109 is similar.  ;D

I have a few favourite site as "go to" sites for certain things, Wonderland is my "goto" for Evergreen and if there was near by parking  and the shops were open I could divert there on my way home from work.
If my three or four favourite sites don't have what I am looking for then it becomes a PITA

An eBay purchase arrived today

1 x 1/72 Italeri BAE HAWK Series MK.100

To be used with the other Hawk parts I received recently. Not happy that the box was cut open so the seller could get all the parts into a small depth box

From the Big H new tool Airfix 1/72 Beaufort. Must admit I was a little taken aback by the size of it, slightly smaller airframe then I'd had in my mind's eye for Lord knows how many years. Another thing I didn't realise was that the transfers are by Cartograph ? Not that it matters as I intend to do one of the Mediterranean (Malta ?) based ones. Mind you I think I'll wait until either Eduard or Peewit bring a masking set out for it.
