PR19_Kit

A bumper bundle from a couple of ebay stores.

A Brigade Models Seafire XV kit
A Master nose probe for a TSR2
Some master 20 mm cannon for the Sea Monsoon build
An Airwaves panel template
A Tornado F3 decal sheet for a build I've had going for ages
Some resin intakes for a CF-105 (A future build, a LONG way in the future I suspect)
Six pots of various Mr Colour acrylics ( I LOVE 'em!)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That Brigade Seafire XV isn't that clever.  It's intended to go with Italeri's vile Spitfires.  I'll come back to you with a better recipe for parts using spares from other kits, but (subject to some test fitting) starting with the spare C wing lower from the sword 14 and late tailplanes from the Eduard early IXc. The latter would also give you the u/c and doors, plus tailwheel and doors and some of the interior.

Just ordered my first custom-3D-printed parts. When it (hopefully) works it will become part of a nice figure conversion project. :D

Thanks Lee. No hurry, it'll be ages till I do anything with it of course.

TBH, the Sword Seafire XV in both variants is available in the superb value 5 in one set. Plenty of spares in it, largely enough to do a Spitfire XII.

When I went digging earlier, I discovered I had about half a dozen...  Brigade Spitfire and Seafire conversion kits that is. I've plenty of the Sword Seafires in their single editions, I only bought the 5-1 set for completist reasons.

Ah, I've got that 5-in-1 set already. I can actually SEE it from where I am now.  ;D

Having done some test fitting... The Sword 14 C wing lower will fit and the Brigade wing uppers will fit. I have to say that I'm using the Brigade 12 rather than the Seafire, but IIRC the plastic is the same in both boxings.   I did find that the starboard wing upper is at least a mm slimmer in chord than the port.

Eduard tailplanes will fit once the locator tab is removed, although you'll need a skim of filler. Their cockpit parts won't fit, but the cockpit interior from an Airfix Ia will fit. The wings will too with minor surgery, but the Brigade uppers will not fit the Airfix lower. Use of an Airfix IIa as a donor means you could do a Spitfire IVa as an RN training aircraft and use the Sword Seafire XV in it's intended role.

Canopy from the Airfix Vc. Radiators from Quickboost. U/C and doors from Eduard, wheels - who doesn't have spare Spitfire wheels? Prop blades is the tricky one though.

Must admit I'm tempted Chris, and I don't build post 1950 as a norm
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
