As elsewhere reported - I successfully bid on a Revellobox Victor K2 with a certain purpose in mind. Closing out the procurements for that very project, I also found a Heller A380 in 1/125, scaleorama in view today. My display shelf isn't too happy with me though.

Bought in concert with the Victor was also a Revell repop of Italaeris old but gold Do 24T and - and this is some what rare over here and hence I'm pretty pleased - a Minicraft Martin PBM-5A Mariner. Really nice kit, that last one!

I just pulled the trigger on a package of 75X 25mm round bases for $15 including shipping.
Yes, circa 0.20 cents per - and that's from a place here in NZ, not China!

Good to buy local and at a nice price. Is that NZ $ ? If so it's an extremely good price

FYI for Chris and any others who are interested, these bases came from Warlord Games in the UK - so anyone local might be able to get a similar good deal, too.
They're different from the usual GW-style 'slottabases', but still look pretty good and very useable.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

The Wooksta!

On order from ebay:

3 x Tamiya DH Mosquito FB.VI
ADS Decals - Mosquito bombers (Found I actually have 3 of this sheet!)
Xtradecal Mosquitos (mainly FB.VI but there's two T.IIIs on it too.)
Xtradecal 4 Sqn history - bought for a Mosquito.

The two B.IVs that I'd ordered a few days back have arrived.  One will be the prototype, unsure about the other one.

Managed to  snag a kit I have been wanting for  some time  and it arrived today, Escadron  Hunting percival pembroke . Very thick plastic  on the fuselage especially, and it has a single vacform canopy. ARGH!!! I  despise  vacform canopies  :banghead:
I will have to be very careful with it that's for sure.
This will get turbo prop engines and possibly a  big radar nose .it's job could be  monitoring  the borders in North Africa, or it might get a job in the navy.

Chris what I do with vacform canopies is use nail scissors to remove most of the excess plastic, then outline the canopy frame with masking tape, doesn't have to be that accurate as long as it airs on the side of caution. I then use a curved pair of nail scissors, small as possible, with the curve facing away from the canopy and follow the line of the bottom canopy frame. You tend to end up with a small amount of "spare" plastic that can be nibbled at when you come to fit the canopy.

I must admit if the canopy doesn't have decent frame lines, or as a recent kit of mine did, no frame lines, then you are still in the lap of the Gods.

I never realised just how big the Wyvern was until I build that kit.

Thankyou Chris, I will definitely be  taking  all the advice I  need with the canopy  especially as it only has one in the kit
As regards to the wyvern, they are huge!! I built the frog version and it looks like it is a bigger scale  model when sat next to  the Seastang 's  in the same scale.  :o
Nice looking bike kit there too Fred, does it have the standard  cb1300 bits with it too, or just  the police  stuff.

The last one left, albeit piston engined, is in the FAA Museum at Yeovilton, and when you stand alongside it the darn thing TOWERS over you.  :o :o

It's HUGE, and it's even larger than a Firebrand, for goodness sake.

Yeah, when I saw it some years ago, it was very impressive. Interestingly in the book 'The Photograph Archive - Westland', Harold Penrose is quoted as saying, 'The Wyvern was very nearly a very good aeroplane'

I'm building an YAH-1S at the moment and it sits next to the two Wyverns I've been building (mid-engine types) and the Wyverns tower over the Cobra.

I wonder what let it down then, apart from the fact that it wasn't a 'jet'.
