Harold Penrose is quoted as saying, 'The Wyvern was very nearly a very good aeroplane'

I wonder what let it down then, apart from the fact that it wasn't a 'jet'.

I'd say that was test pilot speak, to a regular pilot it probably was a very good aeroplane. In the book, there's a photo of Penrose doing his last flight before he retired, in one of the Python Wyverns, the long intake cowling version (S.2 ?)

It looks like number 2 pot is about  6 or more inches lower than number one pot doesn't it.

It's a rather poor drawing. Look at the rider's legs.

Thankyou Chris, I will definitely be  taking  all the advice I  need with the canopy  especially as it only has one in the kit
As regards to the wyvern, they are huge!! I built the frog version and it looks like it is a bigger scale  model when sat next to  the Seastang 's  in the same scale.  :o
Nice looking bike kit there too Fred, does it have the standard  cb1300 bits with it too, or just  the police  stuff.

Just the cop parts.  But you could leave most of them off and build a civilian CB1300 with a Bikini Fairing.
It's a level below Tamiya, Aoshima & Hasegawa bike kits inasmuch as the frame, swingarm, tank and seat unit are all moulded in two parts split down the middle.

Are you fumigating it, in case the USCBP and/or USPS missed something?

Arrived this morning from the Big yellow H where I had them on pre-order

2 x 1/72 Modelsvit Mirage III C's

Looks absolutely lovely and put's all previous kit's of this aircraft in this scale effectively out of a job. The quality of the mouldings looks fantastic. The six decal options are very nice too. Three for the French Air Force, Two for the IDAFAF and one South African option.
I have an old Airfix Mirage IIC in the stash, this is now going to be whiff fodder as this new kit, while not shake and bake will certainly form the basis for any real world builds I want to make, as long as Modelsvit produce a kit of it that is

Arrived yesterday  from freightdog, super sonic hunter conversion set and a resin canopy for the Avro 720. I think I am  going to have  just as much  "fun" with the resin canopy as I would the vacform one, so slowly does it with that. The  super sonic hunter could be  fleet air arm, possibly in a sea vixen livery.

Mirage IIIC kits are rare, AFAIK there was only the Matchbox kit of this early variant, all others are later and longer E models.  :o

The Wooksta!

Set of Yugoslav Mosquito decals arrived from Blackbird.

Quick look on Google shows that they need tropical filters that were not marked on the sheet.

Yugoslavia, tropical?  ;D
Did they have a Pacific island or something?

The Wooksta!

From intense research, most late/post war single stage T.III and FB.VI seem to have been produced with them as standard.
