Not a kit but certainly involved a bit of plastic... Tickets to the Shuttleworth Airshow on 2nd May.

It's a drive-in only, no hangar tours, and you have to book a dedicated space for your car or party to ensure social distancing. On the plus side it means no heads in the way or elbow battles with other families.

Nice! Have fun.

And photos! We expect Photos!
Please?   :angel::thumbsup:

1/48 scale?  :o :o :o

I'm sure it's just a momentary aberration.  Possibly due to something he's been injected with recently.  He'll get over it once he opens the box and realises how much space it'll take up.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yup apologies Kit, and it is a tad larger than I'd visualised

That box art is brilliant,  I  would  cut that picture out and frame  it.

It is nice Chris. Certainly won't be thrown, I cut out and keep all the decent box art
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

JayBee

Just recieved from the BigH

Takom Object 279 in 1/72 scale
You get two in the box, Object 279 and 279M. One has the earlier gun and one the later longer gun. Who needs longer wings when you can have a longer gun and this one is LONG.
The third kit you get in the box is the Soviet style soldier in NBC gear. 9 pieces for a 1/72 figure ! Well eight if you count the two versions of the firearm.
The colours for the figure, you are told to refer to the box art. That means it is grey with grey shading !
However it does look to be, overall, a lovely kit.

Just don't try getting up any steep hills, that monster gun will end up dug into the ground!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Hmmm,
I do like the look of that Jaybee, just wondering if the fingers can handle the fiddly bits as I am tempted. What are the parts like is there lots of fiddly bits?

For a tank in this scale yes some bits appear just a little bit fiddly.
The tracks are length and link, not stretchy soft plastic stuff, and as you have four sets of running gear, what can I say
Two sheets of PE parts, but to call them sheets is a travesty. They are only about one inch long, any PE is fiddly but at least in this kit there is precious little of it.

I had the same concerns as yourself about the ability of finger/eye co-ordination but I do believe this one is doable. (Where is the fingers crossed Emoji when you need it?)

Thanks  JayBee,
Is the P.E a necessary  part  of the kit or just  an extra,  I am not a  fan of P.E and it has made me putty armour  builds away forever. I think I  will probably leave it be, for now at least.

Couldn't help myself from snatching a 1/72 Heller AWACS off the Evilbay. Less than 40 quid including freight can't be expensive, at least if you look at the amount of shelf space it'll crave..

Scalemated has a PDF of the instructions sheet The PE seems to be for the headlight guards, IR illuminator support, a grab bar on the turret and several small squares for the driver's vision ports. I think you could skip them or replace with small scraps of plastic.

Here's a nice full build video of one of the tanks in this kit. I'm more concerned about the tracks; they don't look difficult but there are so many of them - 8 sets if you build both tanks as tanks.

At least they're not individual link, like Womby's 1/35th one he's building for the Blue Lights GB

Thanks for the  info Frank, much appreciated
I am  tempted  yet again by one, I will have a go at building some armour when I  get back to  modelling again, as I  have been giving all my attention to  the new dog.
Cheers
