It would have been rude not to............  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I don't like to make the little paint jars go through all the stress of being transported all alone in a small box, in the middle of all the big ones without some kind of protection, they need an escort. ;D
BTW, the F-1's molds must really be getting used a lot cause one of the fuselage halves is showing quite a bit of flash, even to the point where there was a fairly big chunk of it protruding from a panel line on the wing root... not a big deal but the worst is a sink mark on one of the wing's upper parts, which will easily be seen on a finished model if left as is.  :-\

From The Works sale mentioned elsewhere:

Airfix 1/72nd Shackleton AEW.2
Airfix 1/76th Churchill Crocodile

All for a VERY reasonable price.

Tentative plan for the Churchill is a 'gadget swap' with a Matilda Hedgehog.

Not sure about the Shack. Some off-the-cuff thoughts:

1. Alternative markings. South Africa, Argentina, India, Oman, Belize, Canada and Australia spring to mind, with suitably 'innovative' backstories.

2. Alternative radars. rotordome (Hawkeye), fixed teardrop (Tracer), fore-and-aft (Nimrod) and beam (Saab 340) all seem physically possible. The unlikelihood of some of these being fitted to an operational Shack could be countered by putting it in a trials aircraft scheme, such as raspberry ripple or Fanta can, the backstory being that it was testing the system in advance of the intended platform being available, in much the same way that the FASS system was tested on a Comet before a Nimrod was converted.

3. Alternative role. SLAR carrier over Vietnam (Mohawk). ELINT/SIGINT with lots of aerials for some part of the world with less air threat than the USSR's borders. Launch aircraft for missiles or drones (could be test or operational). Weather recon ('Snoopy' style).

Some interesting stuff on 'strayan Evil-Bay ATM.  Looks like lockdowns have resulted in stash clear outs.  I have "done a Wooksta" and lobbed out some minimum bids to see what happens.
So far I have a 1/24 car and some 135 /figures coming to me.

Looking  at my own Shackleton AEW the main concern to me is the wings. Those rounded tips just makes it look ancient, so I'm considering chasing up a second Frog derivation and using the outer wings from that, creating an "AEW.2A" or something. As the MR.3 was reported to fly a lot better than the MR.2, this seems quite natural. I suspect the only reason not to do it in reality was that RAF always though they were going to get a better AEW platform within a year or two, so they never felt it being worthwhile for the short time left.

One kit I had a resupply notification in for & 4 others I bought for the fun of it;

1 x Tamiya 1/48 P-47D Thunderbolt Bubbletop (TM 61090) - this was the one I had the notification in for.

2 x Tamiya 1/35 Israeli Merkava MBT (TM 35127) - the oldest kit of any Merkava, that I'm aware of; cheap & something to muck about with for fun
2 x Tamiya 1/35 US M41 Walker Bulldog (TM 35055) - also cheap & something to muck about with for fun

PS: Just checked my emails, to clear the P-47 order from the inbox, & I put in the notification request on 10/10/2020 ... That's quite a wait for Tamiya stuff. :o

At the Shuttleworth Vintage Weekend a Matchbox Aeritalia G91Y.  Sadly no decals so must make a choice - either whif it (I've an Xtradecal G91R set for German, Italian and Portuguese aircraft I could use) or build OOB and source some G91Y decals from somewhere.  That's not that easy - not much G91-reated stuff out there as far as I can see, unless I shell out a wad of cash for some Tauro decals direct from Italy.

Almost a year, but I suppose it has been a rather unusual year ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Wooksta!

Just taken delivery of the Shackleton AEW2 that I ordered from the Works last week.

Snatched an Airfix Dakota from Evilbay for less than £4, corresponding. Only after the engines, really, but long Dak wings might come in handy for something else..
