But back to Lancs.  According to my calculations a Lancaster could carry at least six US Mark 13 Torpedoes.  I envisage some sort of rack being mounted under the bomb bay.
Imagine a flight of Lancasters coming in out of the rising sun at zero feet before each releasing six fish at the enemy fleet...

Ah, but depending on just *when*, how many would hit the water and make their runs to the target?

I've read that the 75mm the B-25 carried was manually loaded   :-\   but the Molins in the Mosquito had an auto-loader as it was behind any crew member on board. So how about four Molins in the nose (or in a slung below bulge in the forward bomb bay area) --- with more ammo to each gun --- you wouldn't have to have torpedoes then would you --  ;)

The 17 Pounder had this variant

Mark III
Royal Navy adaptation for use on landing craft, generally similar to the Mk. I, but included an automatic loading system. Unused.

If we're talking auto loader I'd like to submit  the above again

Now could it carry the 6 Torpedoes and RP3 rockets ?

Yup I've read the same

Or that of a B-25G/H?

Hit them with the 75 mm first and then poke one of the torps through the same hole. That'd get their attention.....

Ooo, that'll leave a mark!  ;D

Have you heard of the Capital Ship Bomb?

You'd have thought that would have at least test dropped the darn thing before trying it out for real!  :o

Test, ALWAYS test!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

That's one of my all time favourite WTF? projects.  ;D

The circumstances in which it might work are so perishingly small as to border on
completely unlikely that it's hilarious, which even the most cursory of examinations
would make clear. The entire project was wishful thinking of the worst sort.

And we thought that only the Germans indulged in such... though at least the Brits didn't go in for series production...

Assuming there were any 13.5" AP rounds still in storage, the RAF could have just modified them into anti-ship bombs.

The Airfix coastal defence set comes with some rounds that could be converted .

Reusing a resource in a logical manner - I saw a doco once that mentioned the Germans put any aerial bombs that didn't come up to spec back to be re-smelted, or whatever they used to do.
The Russians, however, simply moved them over to the Katyusha ammo line...  ;D
