What does the panel think about PRU Blue on top and White underneath?

Or the other way round maybe?

I'm not keen on a camo upper surface as it's meant to be flying at 55000 ft or so.

This member of the panel thinks PRU blue over white is a good idea.

Light aircraft grey topside and PRU blue under? As per the early PR canberries?

I remember when reading 'Night Fighter', Cunningham and Rawlnsey (I think that's how you spell it) had tested Mosquitos for high altitude radar interceptions of intruders. He described the camo as being a glaring blue colour but when practicing the high interceptions with another Mosquito with the same colour, he said even though they were only a few hundred yards behind the target, they couldn't see it with their eyes.  I should add these were daylight interception --

Yes, I've liked that scheme for a long time, see my original Meteor PR19 below, but I've done it to death by now.

That's why I was looking for an alternate, and it'll pre-date the PR19 in the time line.

I'm pleased you like my proposal Mr. Rheged, I may do underside in white and see what it looks like. It's easy to overpaint if I get it wrong.

Some of the RB-57's and U-2's were painted white uppers with gloss black underside ---- that would be different -- They operated at the altitudes you're thinking about ---

Thanks for that - a potential scheme for my Douglas build

As with the Lightning ambulance, also available in white.  ;D

As it happens, that coat used up the very last dregs of my Halfords Appliance White, and while I guess I could buy another can, I rather like that finish and I think I'll try the PRU Blue on top next to see how it works.

Note the camera ports I drilled in the belly, they'll be Kristal Kleared later on in the build of course.

White over PRU blue sounds reasonable to me.

Sounds good to me as well.  White to blend in with the clouds when seen from above and blue under sides to blend in with the sky when seen from below.

According to your author name, I think the paint should be 19 coats of PR colour... ;)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

At the moment it's the other way round, and I don't have any more white paint............
