I'd go for a fourth GB (and I'd support scooter's 'no extension' suggestion).  But if there is a tie for third place and the whifferati prefer to stay with the three GB convention, then any run-off should only be for that place only - i.e. only the tied options should be voted for, not what's already come first or second.

Your problem comes if three or more tie for second.  Again go with a fourth GB (sans extensions) OR stay with three with the run-off only between the tied suggestions.

I'd go with the 4th GB, but still allow for extensions - they'd have the built-in penalty of working on two GBs at once ... which for some <cough-Dizzy-cough> wouldn't really be a problem, IMHO.

Sorry if I wasn't clear Dave, but that's what I meant.

I vote for a run off if there is a tie.

Keeping it to 3 GB's (and the one week build) is about perfect.  It leaves a bit of space between the builds, extensions, and un-foreseen issues, and allows a bit of excitement to build in between the builds.  Years ago when we had overlapping GB's, or immediately back to back, GB's, there was confusion with start and stop days, real or perceived pressure to finish one, and then immediately jumping to the next.  No breather and the constant hamster wheel of excitement, build, panic.....  If you want to do an independent build, the in between times are a perfect time to start one.  If we moved to 4 GB's we take all the slack out of the system.

I have lots of commitments and interests, so I am lucky to get 3-4 builds in a year, so I am all in favor of keeping things fun, not about pressures.  I understand not all share my opinion!  Happy modeling!  -Dave

Even I've voted despite realising that I usually build much too slow. But we'll see. I've chosen not only the subject I think I'd like to build myself but also what I would like to see from others as inspiration.

Yeah, I'm boring..  ;)

None of us are "boring".  We all have our own unique perspective when it comes to model building.

We all build at our own pace - for whatever reason - don't we.  GBs provide fun focus - and if the Old kit/Bad kit GB happens it'll push me to finish what I started the last time it ran!

The fact you may not enter a GB doesn't mean you can't vote. How the hell would my "agents" enforce that ??  ;)

And no you're not boring  ;D
