The problem is everyone always does aircraft , the rules let's you do a Photo Reconnaissance Stegasaurus the world is our Lobster

Funnily enough, i was looking thoughtfully at some 1/35th Tamiya velociraptors yesterday, and thinking about what they'd look like with 1/72nd figures riding them. Havn't got suitable figures though.  ;D

Helicopters are definitely allowed as long as they do reconnaissance. As are ships, cars, tanks, dinosaurs, ants and aliens......

Make the rules too tight and you will get very few entries.

True, but as Tom says, "make them too loose and what's the point of a GB ?". It's a very difficult balancing act and I tend to let the Moderators who are after all volunteers follow their lines of thought. In doing so it means that they are thus moderating something they themselves are comfortable with.

It should also be remembered that without the volunteers to moderate the GB's they would be difficult to run.

I initially thought this would be one of the easier GB's to set rules for  I then found myself having to concentrate my thoughts on to what actually constituted recce before settling on my builds.

As a matter of interest I didn't volunteer to be a Site Mod, but was volunteered, in exactly the same way as I got "volunteered" as editor of the UK Groups Newsletter .

Is that the military definition of volunteering

My hats of to all the volunteers , it's an often thankless task .

Is there not some US Cavalry that might work as possible dino riders

Surely this is a god send I'm sure that recon planes fly high up and need very long wings

We, at least in the US armed forces, call that being "Volun-told".

This is basically why I've just stopped doing GBs. The Mods lay down the rules and then you get this argument about it with just about all the twisting of a definition you can get. As soon as it starts here and in the discussion thread, that's it for me -----

Someone had to do it, both jobs.................  ;D ;D ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
