More plastic hacking today.

I started by modifying one of the wings, again

Off came the aileron, then the wing halves were taped together so I could work out what angle to modify the Airfix wing tips.

It turns out that I didn't need to do much to the Airfix parts, but I will have to add plastic as I had mistakenly chopped off part of the Italeri wing tips  :banghead:

Next up, chopping out the really useful parts of the Revell undercarriage bays.

After a little tidying up, they were glued into the underside of the wing

As you can see, they are a big improvement

Further work was carried out on the upper wings, where the part of the lower wing was removed so that a plastic card fillet could be fitted once the wing tip was glued in place.

The wing tips were given pins to help mount them in place. 0.3mm tube was used with the holes drilled out to 0.4mm to allow for the glue.

So far it's only one wing tip that I have worked on, but you get the idea.

More sticking bits back together

Above is the upper wing surface, and below, the lower wing surface

But you clever people had already worked that out.

Filling and such like to happen as well as fitting the wing tips, but that's for another day.

I added the one pinned wingtip today while I was at the Scottish Nationals.
