I'm wondering if a Jetstream word work

Gondor

I think it will. I measured an Airfix Jetstream and a Canberra and found the difference in diameter to be about one mm.

Mossie

I didn't have a Jetstream to measure, but that's good to know.  The 125 is the same, about 1mm difference, close enough to work but needing much putty.

The Jetstream won't need any work to remove the bulge (if it's an issue), it's also lacks the large wing box so it's probably  better all round.  The nose on the 125 is closer to the Martin mock up, again, if it bothers you.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

AeroplaneDriver

I have a lot of Jetstream materials (4,000+ hours flying them).  Somewhere in the basement there is a set of engineering drawings if you ever need detailed info.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Mossie

Not surprisingly, nowhere near finished.   I've got to where I'd hope I'd be at a minimum and my mojo seems in a good place so this will probably get finished.
Mods, could I respectfully ask that you very kindly move this thread to the main forum, if it so pleases you? Thank you muchly!

Final pics for the GB:

Canopy top shape fleshed out with plastic card and Milliput to hold it in place.

Putty, round 1.  Starting to look like what it's supposed to be.

Since the fuselage was shaping up, I tacked the flying surfaces on for a look-see.

And the manufacturers model to compare.  Getting there.  I need to source some large tanks from somewhere.

No Problem
I'm watching this one closely. I may borrow/blatantly steal ideas from this build.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Please do Martin!  And everyone else that is thinking of something similar.

Count on it! Right now, I'm contemplating whether this is where my planned SIGINT Canberra is heading. Originally, I was looking at an extended B.6 front fuselage mated to the inevitable  PR.9 rear and wings, but this obviously gives even more room for operators..
Choices, choices...

How about a pair of F-89 Scorpion tanks?

My thinking too Alastair, they're HUGE!

In fact, Scorpion tanks may be too big. See pics of my Camberra F10, and those have been shortened!

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Tip: Go for 1/48 tanks from anything. In 1/72, they're awesome for anything large.

Thanks all.  I've got some 1/48 Tornado 1500 litre tanks that might work, if not I may go hunting for some from an F-89.

For those who are pondering a similar build, I found that the Mach 2 Dassault Falcon 20 fuselage has the same diameter as the Matchbox Canberra PR.9 fuselage (measured them last night). There's two benefits to using the Falcon fuselage, it's longer to start with, so more of a constant completely round cross-section, and two, there's no cockpit roof bulge to deal with. The down side the nose is a bit more pointy ---

If you use 1/72 600 Gal. F-15 tanks, you can round the nose off a bit. I used a P-51 prop spinner for the nose of the tank for one I'm making for the AV-22 I'm building, but offering up to my STOVL Canberra wingtip (PR.9), it looks about spot on for what you need Simon.

Coming along nicely Simon
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Mossie

Thanks Chris!

Robert, I think I've got some F-15 tanks hiding somewhere that I acquired for another build, I'll see if I can find them.  The Falcon 20 seems a much better soloution than the Dominie, I took the hard route!  It'd be easier to round of the nose than make all the cuts to persuade the Dominie to fit.
