If so likely just white stripes.

Looking good, I think it needs something simple like that just to give it that little "extra"

Last one before final reveal, probably tomorrow, possibly tonight.  Ready for final weathering and a flat sealant, the landing gear and fiddly bits then she's done.

I was torn on 'Invasion Stripes" but in the end agreed with Chris that simple white ID bands would look good.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

The white spinners just give it that touch of class. Looks fantastic

Here she is all done.  Not much of a detailed backstory...just that Little Boy fizzled and Japan did not surrender in August 1945, so Operation Downfall proceeds.  With the DH Hornet coming into service and designed for long range fighter missions it is ordered en masse but the RAF as well as Australia, New Zealand, and even the USMC.

This model depicts an RAAF Hornet serving with 21 Squadron in Spring 1946 as the invasion of mainland Japan gets underway.

Kit is the Trumpeter 1/48 Hornet F.3.  It went together amazingly well and has a pleasantly small parts count.  I'll definitely be adding more of these to the stash for both Whiffing and RW builds.  Such a pretty airframe.

There is something distinctly odd about those propellors !

Not quite as pretty as the Whirlwind but, yes, very pretty indeed!

Are they on correct engines? And no I don't trust the instructions on which goes where.

Really looks good regardless.

Two right handed blades and two left handed blades on each prop?

Hadn't noticed until you mentioned it but ... Oops?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
