Progress

The fuselage is now finished and the canopy has been fitted and faired in. The rear wings were a very good fit and they and the fuselage had been cast with aids to get a decent and strong fit. Couple of swipes with PPP and they were done.

As mentioned above I was dreading the front wings. They are "gull" wings and unlike the rear ones have no aid to fitment, they are simply butt joints and the butt is at an angle  Anyway I decided to us 5 min epoxy so as to give myself some time to manoeuvre them into  place and get the angle near enough correct. Got the port side fitted and left it for 24 hours to fully harden before attempting the starboard side. Anyway did that yesterday and left it overnight to harden. On checking this morning I'm quite pleased. I won't say that they are exactly symmetrical when looked at from the front, but they are darn well nearly so. Plus as a bonus they line up with the rear set. So I'm quite happy.

Now need to move onto tidying the front wing/fuselage joints up and then priming.

Here we have it after the first PSR session on the front wing joints. It will need another, but I'm quite happy with them considering how tricky they were to line up/align

I really am struggling to use the camera on my phone  :banghead: When I view it, it looks fine, but once I download it then it appears out of focus. I've no idea and I don't fancy carting my decent camera to Telford. Still I've got a couple of days to experiment.

I think it has something to do with how a phone takes photo's. I'm not an expert & I'm only going on observations but ...

It seems, to me, that phones don't take photo's the same way cameras do, in a single fraction-of-a-second exposure; they seem to take longer to capture the image & I think this is because they scan across the image to create the photo.

If you look at your photo, for example, the lower right corner is "in focus" & the further left & up you go the  more "out of focus" it becomes. However, looking closely at the photo it looks less like focal blur & more like hand-shake blur, which I think is the result of your hand beginning to shake after clicking the "button" while it takes this extra time to compile the image.

My phone has this 'live' mode where it takes what amounts to a one second video and when you look at the pic later it moves for that one second or so! Plus it seems to be on for some pics and off for others so I have to check it every time. I don't know if your phone does this or not but maybe that's causing your blurred images. Just my $0.02.

That would certainly go a long way towards explaining it and is quite likely given my current medical issues.  :-\ Still part of it is almost certainly me not understanding the flippin' thing as well, so I shall press on experimenting.

Here's another shot, which I think is slightly better, and was taken after the next layer of putty was added.

Since I took this shot I think I may have figured something else out about the way it works, certainly seems to have an effect even if it's not consistent, or at least doesn't seem to be. Never the less we shall press on.  ;)

Much to my surprise second round of PSR was sufficient and I can now move on to priming.

Great to see this moving forward.

Finally got back to this over the last couple of days and got the various struts and the undercarriage parts assembled. The instructions are not the clearest with this kit, mainly due to them using photographs of one being assembled in lieu of diagrams, and it's very difficult to make some of the parts out  :-\ Took me ages to realise the thing was designed with a retracting undercarriage (once open the doors closed) but once I did it made placement a little easier.

Anyway she is now ready for the paintshop, so maybe another couple of weeks ?

Why i havent i seen this post before ??..i love weird and this is definitely there and the build is coming along sweet Narses ..its gonna look pretty cool when its all said and done.
Ohh the phone V's camera thing..theres several reasons why the pics can be good and bad..mostly its the megapixels ratings ..only quite high end ,,ie expensive as hell..phones have a high megapixel rating and thats can be a huge thing over clarity..my camera is 14 megapixels and my phone is ..crap..my phone was $175NZ brought on special..my camera cost $100 NZ brought of Trademe..another issue is the macro function and the lens..being able to take a close up pic with a phone can suck on many levels as the macro level is pretty poor as phones cameras are more for taking pics of wider areas ..basically pics takin for more than 1m away .
The lens on a phone is fixed as where a camera with a optical lens isn't..the cameras lens lets in more light and can adjust its settings automatically where alot of phones can to but not with as much ease..very expensive phones can do this but hell you could also buy a car for the cost of those things.
I put pics of a diorama i built on the armour page and those pics were takin with my phone..they had a blurry look to them and weren't bright and sharp..i didnt have my camera then..im going to take pics with my camera as its not a bad dio but the phone made it look bad..same problem your having.
A mate of mine has a $2300NZ phone..its great for takin pics of normal things but its macro is rubbish ..strange thing is my samsung galaxy S2pro takes a better close up pic than his does ..so Narses mate ya could hunt down a cheap camera ..ive got a Fujiflim finepix S2980..bloody good camera and cheap now mate..wicked macro function and easy to use..oh its got a 18X optical zoom too
Thats a little more then 2cents

Thanks for the info re the phone camera  I'm starting to get the hang of it and if I'm honest I only want to use it for "in progress" shots. One of the problems I have is a little "hand shake" which doesn't effect my proper camera as much as it's so much heavier and thus stable.

I've got a decent camera (2 actually, but the older one uses that stuff called film ) and I'll carry on using that for the final beauty shots.

Gondor

Use the back of a chair or something to rest your arms on, that should help reduce any shake.

Ya welcome matey ..trust me your not the only one with the shakes when takin pics with the phone..i wish normal cell phones had the anti shake stabilization system that the high end models do.
I had to upgrade my ..well replace my camera when smoke started coming out of the lens..cant complain..brought it for $40nz like 12yrs ago   ;D
Love the thing called flim  ..im sure my dad had a Nikon which used that ummm stuff
