just posting proof that I finished on time....... this is about the third GB in a row that I finished the build with literal seconds left....   :o

Now.... I'll take better pictures. I'll take some tonight and put them in the finished builds post and if I can I'll take outside pics tomorrow and edit them into the post.... but... barring that..... (not sure the edit function still works after thread lock.. I don't think it does...  )       I'll try my best to take decent pics tonight.

YES. SIR.  Man... wooo......   I probably could have just.... I dunno.... gave myself another hour or two and took my time at the end and it would have been fine but I wanted to stick to the deadline as best as possible because that's part of the fun! This has happened 4-5 times... the last 2-3 GBs and waaaaay back when I did the Cuban B-29 IT went that way... I mean... it's weird.. I know lots of folks might get done day of or within a couple hours but I repeatedly find myself finishing a build at 11:58 or 11:59 or some other time within mere minutes, far less than an hour.....  it's NUTS!  That said, more COULD be done... refinement and all... but.... that little antenna or pitot tube or whatever on the nose was THE last thing necessary for a complete build and when I took that picture it was still wet with paint and the glue wasn't even dry... If I had waited another 30 seconds... I would have blown the deadline. It's crazy to me to think about it having 3.5 months of time to work with and using EVERY LAST BIT OF IT.

Anyway.......      I do have pictures now. We'll get right into it and show one that illustrates that while being "done" a little more time for refinement would have been nice....... the intakes there... the paint... a bit sloppy.  ;D

But that's alright, things like that always look way worse when in an up close picture. I'm actually thrilled with this.. I'm very happy with the outcome considering the rush job at the end. Next time I'll try to plan better.

I will attempt daylight pictures tomorrow. If I can... I'll edit my post in the finished builds thread to include them but to be on the safe side, I'll use three of these for now.

Funny thing... turns out I was right to worry about whether the ALQ-131 would actually fit centerline. Turns out, it definitely would not. BUT... for a different reason...   Unlike the F-16 which the main gear is based on the gear doors hinge inboard of the gear bays, rather than on the outside. Regardless, I ran out of time for it. I planned for this "just in case" and said earlier that I wouldn't mess with it until the plane was finished as a stand-alone in case I ran out of time.. and I did so had I fiddled with the jammer who knows what else would have gone un-finished and caused me to blow the deadline.

This reaaaaally made my day...  when I was finished with it and started taking these last pics I was pretty chuffed and found myself enjoying my time with this hobby so while it was rough here and there trying to get this done in the midst of turmoil, I'm damn glad I did and it was well worth the effort.

Thanks, everyone! Hopefully I have some nice outside pictures done soon. On to the next thing! I don't even know what the next GB is yet but I bet I can come up with something.

At first look I thought you were going with straight black but it must have the light. The camo looks awesome! If I ever build my recon F-5 with long wings I'll keep this in mind!

Thanks, gents!  At some point I'd like to take a pic of this one with the F-16XL thing I did that has a similar paint scheme. They might look pretty good together.

That looks good - and a great change from greys!

Thank you! The colors are one of my favorite parts.... I love certain schemes as much as individual aircraft some times.  ;D
