Westland Commodore with photos!

 The Westland Commodore was the inbetween model which used the Sikorsky HH-3E body but had a pair of 3,925hp GE T64s from the HH-53C model.
These would be used by the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy for heavy lifting or in later life as a trials helicopter. Only five were converted.
With the introduction of the Boeing CH-47 Chinook into service with the RAF , the Royal Navy converted the five helicopters into AEW & Control platforms. These would have the EMI Searchwater radar fitted on the right side of the rear fuselage. The radar housed in a waterproof bag which could be deflated when not in use. Long range drop tanks were fitted along with a telescopic inflight refuelling probe.

Kits used so far;
Donor 1/72 Lindberg HH-3E Jolly Green Giant
Airfix 1/72 Sikorsky HH-53C Super Jolly Green Giant, main stack,  engines and trimmed main rotor blades.
Freightdog Sea King AEW deflated radome.

With the Lindberg main rotor stack removed,  the Airfix parts hide most of the gaps although these have been modified to fit. The donor kit is per instructions.

A few changes have been made to this build,  there's the NOTAR tail and two fins on the tail. The Mk5 radome is on the upper rear fuselage. Where the drop fuel tanks are located there's two torpedoes on either side and the telescopic inflight refuelling probe has been fitted. On the nose of the helicopter two ESM pods are glued on from the Airfix Sea King AEW kit. The wheels are painted and have also been glued on.

The Airfix Sea King AEW radome has been glued to the rear fuselage on the right hand side,  the pair of machine guns from the Italeri MH-47E are glued on the sponsors along with a pair of torpedoes and above them a pair of rocket launchers.
Sort of armed AEW.
The USAF HH-3Es did have machine guns fitted but not like this. The rotor blades are from the Westland Sea King HC.4 kit in the stowed position.
I'm thinking my version of tiger stripes to break up the grey would work based on the Airfix Sea King HC.4  of No.848 Naval Air Squadron,  Commando Helicopter Force 2009.
