A prone pilot helicopter would be just TOO silly. 

I dunno, prone pilot gunship with a prone weapons operator?  Bunk beds basically.

It's just that they are the PRETTIEST jet ever built, nothing more, nothing less. 

Other opinions are, of course, available and equally valid.

IMO this is an improvement.

Simple clean lines, nothing fancy about it at all.
Lines that almost make it look as if it's fast just sitting on the ground.
The epitome of KISS (Keep It Stupidly Simple). the last two words may be changed in their order depending on who you are talking to

It'd look like a prone pilot version of the Trent Meteor though.

Just imagine, if the prone pilot Lightning was doing it's signature vertical climb, the pilot would just standing there enjoying the view !

Now I'm SORELY tempted! 

Re the Leduc 022, I've got the Mach 2 kit of that, and amazingly it's not too bad, but the pilot actually sits normally. It just looks as if he's prone by the way the cockpit and nose is arranged.
