I was at an RC Model Boating event today, and out of maybe 35 people there (all of us older than 60) My mate Pete and I were the ONLY ones who masked up...................

I would have been tempted to walk out after complaining to whoever was in charge

Walking around Stockport yesterday, mask wearing was patchy. In the shops that insisted on it (notably Specsavers: I was there for new lenses in my glasses) nobody was protesting or arguing the toss, but in shops where it was optional, I's say only about 25% of customers and maybe 40% of shop staff were wearing masks. Some shops had taken the 'please wear a mask' signs down entirely. Almost all of them still had had sanitiser stations though.

If SMW mandate masks, I wonder if they'll consider clear face screens an acceptable substitute? We do at work, and I find it vastly preferable to a mask. It still serves the prupose of intercepting droplets from your breath, just with a lot less claustrophobia and breathing restriction.

Same down here, but look at who's using them. Mostly female and mostly because they see it as free hand cream, nothing to do with infection control at all.

Hand sanitiser is anything BUT hand cream, it dries your skin out like crazy!

Or at least it does in the places I've used it.

There's a few different kinds. Even the dispensers in our factory can have one of two different kinds, nad you can't tell which you're getting until you try. One's a gel and the other's a foam. I think the foam's better: the gel makes your hands greasy and sticky for longer.

Yes but the young ladies don't see that, and to be honest the few times I've used it I've not suffered any after effects.

At work we have a sanitiser which seems to be mostly alcohol and makes my hands smell like feet.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I had some lovely alcohol cleanser last year, it smelt hoppy with hints of orange and autumn winds. Hang on now, that was a pint of IPA.

The industrial hand sanitiser we use at work is dirt cheap but does the job. The good stuff that we buy for ourselves from Lifebuoy or Purell or Carex is bound to have moisturiser and scents included. I bought some from Poundland in a dark blue tube last March that was great to use but it was clearly a one-off as I haven't seen it anywhere since.
Either way I hardly use it any more.

I'll be interested to see what happens at the Brampton show regarding mask wearing.

How often do you have to lick you hands to get drunk?

I hope to whoever they don't smell like I'm told mine can do  ;)

As it says on the tin - and bringing back on topic as opposed to cosmetic products...

Who is going to be there this year?

And for ten bonus points...

I've suggested to Martin that the SIG has a Gannet Scale Models mini theme as several of us seem to be working our way through Alistair's catalogue.  I know Martin's done the SR.187 at least, I'm building several P.8s (and I can also bring several of his older ABS printed designs) and Dave also has a P.8.  Has anyone got anything they'll have ready in time?
