Favour request time.  If anyone arriving Friday sees a 1/72 A-6 Intruder with intact wings and tailplanes waiting to be snaffled up from the 'give an old kit a new home' table, could they snaffle it up for me please?  Will pay said snaffler on Saturday.
Specifically after the wings and tailplanes, not fussed about the rest of the model.  I guess a 1/72 EA-6 Prowler will also fit the bill.

Thinking of turning the SR187 into a strike aircraft.  Lose the rockets and replace their fuel with yer standard jet fuel and it could have some decent range.

There was also a belly tank just in case you think it looks like it needs a bit of bulking up

Maybe a fixed nose as well whoch'd save some weight as at low level you'd never really retract it and cut visibility

Just been admiring some pictures from the show. A great table and builds, hope y'all have a good 2nd day

BULKING UP???????  :o

That's the very LAST thing an SR.187 needs!

Having seen two of the 1/72 models at the Nationals this weekend my mind BOGGLES as the sheer size of the thing, it's astonishing!

Well it was good to be back at a National level show again.
Yes it was a tad smaller than previous SMW's and they were taking quite a risk holding such a "large" indoor event these days. But i think It worked out for the most part. I will be watching with interest to see if there is word of any covid spike amoung those who attended.
Including one celebrity visitor from today. Namely Al Murry (aka the pub landlord). A known history graduate and keen modeller. For those who have no idea who he is, just look him up on youtube...........

Any way photo time
Click here for phtos of the Whiff and Project cancell SIG stands taken on Saturday.
and Here for the pics I took on Sunday around the show of whiffs, projects and anything else that took my fancy......

Both links should be set to public access, but give us a shout if they dont work

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Al Murray regularly takes part in a podcast with various people I follow on Twitter. It's called the We Have Ways podcast and I presume it's available on multiple platforms.

Thanks for the photo's, Martin!

Both sets worked fine for me.

For an Old .... Bloke, Mr Spackman can certainly churn out a lot of good builds, can't he! :o

Lots of quality builds overall from what I could see.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I've just been around a long time, plus I was 'marooned' 120 miles from home for the Lockdown. I had to do SOMEthing, didn't I?  ;D

A very good weekend - great to meet up with SIG/forum members again after such a long time, came home with bags of whif inspiration and was well-behaved purchase-wise. Thank you Martin for sharing a great set of photos (proof positive that whiffery is now so mainstream that next year we should only display non-whifs), and congratulations to steelpillow for his success in the Mushroom Models trophy.

Here's to SMW2022 via Milton Keynes in May and hopefully Elstree later in the year.

Thank you Martin SO much. As you well know I can not get about much these days and seeing such a fantastic display certainly helps cheer me up.

Absolutely!

It was really good seeing that the two best models in Class 32 (aka The Mushroom....) had some real thought put into them, as well as being darn good models anyway.

Is there a link to the backstory / build of the Vampire based model above. I've seen the single engined Comet build on here but not that one? Please and Thanks
Oh to be whiffing again :-(
