I once thought about a Mega-Lightning; two fuselages joined at the sides to create a 4-engined monster. It would probably run out of fuel before reaching the runway!  ;D ;D ;D

How about four engine stacked vertically?
Two intakes and two shock cones.
Take the flying suitcase moniker from the Hampden.

EXACTLY!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I've got vague recollections of someone doing something like that, with cockpit section similar to the HP.115, but I can't find it.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

From this angle the early Shenyang J-8 has a flavour of your Flattening.

Mossie

There was also the MiG Ye-152A that led to the J-8I, it differs in that has a fattened rear rather than whole fuselage.

According to various sources, including Russian, the one has nothing to do with the
other aside from both having basically an enlarged MiG-21 layout.

The 'pen-nib' exhausts of the J-8 are reminiscent of the MiG-19.

Gondor

Iv'e been looking and can't find a model of the J-8A  :banghead: So to build one a lot of scratchbuilding/crosskitting will need to be done and there is no guarantee that any drawings are going to be accurate or to scale either
