I once thought about a Mega-Lightning; two fuselages joined at the sides to create a 4-engined monster. It would probably run out of fuel before reaching the runway!

I've got vague recollections of someone doing something like that, with cockpit section similar to the HP.115, but I can't find it.

From this angle the early Shenyang J-8 has a flavour of your Flattening.

There was also the MiG Ye-152A that led to the J-8I, it differs in that has a fattened rear rather than whole fuselage.

According to various sources, including Russian, the one has nothing to do with the
other aside from both having basically an enlarged MiG-21 layout.

The 'pen-nib' exhausts of the J-8 are reminiscent of the MiG-19.

Iv'e been looking and can't find a model of the J-8A  So to build one a lot of scratchbuilding/crosskitting will need to be done and there is no guarantee that any drawings are going to be accurate or to scale either
