...Of course what you call it is up to you, I think Warhawk II has a nice ring to it?...

Warhawk II in USAF service, but surely Tomahawk II and/or Kittyhawk II when used by the RAF?

Ooh yes, either sounds good. I just thought Warhawk because of its aggressive role, but your right, it needs to be British name.

But surely both of those "British" names are a nod to the American heritage of the type?
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Old Wombat

Maybe the name(s) were used as a word-association marketing tool to sell them to the USAF?

Paint it black and you have a Black Hawk,  add it to the AT-45 Goshawk. Then kitbash with a Harrier would that be a Hawk er Harrier?

Knightflyer

As McColm alludes to with the Sikorsky family - Hawk, is one of those 'bolt-on' names that can get a multitude of prefixes

Has anyone ever used 'Sparrowhawk' in English for an aircraft?

As for the use of Warhawk, I think we had a similar discussion re 'Lightning' and whether the P-38 was the first Lightning used by the RAF. Some names are just too good to let lie unused.

I only say this because I used Warhawk here !  ;D

There was a diminuitive Curtiss fighter biplane (the F9C) with this name, based on board of USN airship carriers. Not many were built, though.

Not seen that before, I do like your Warhawk idea. I suspect in reality my version would just have been called a T.2 Hawk, its combat capability only being called upon in the event of unrest around the Eastern block.

You might be wondering about the Light Aircraft Grey and white 'shadow' shading in Jan's profile, more on that to follow.

Colin, are you planning to sell the Sabres separately? There's plenty of other UK projects that they'd be a nice addition to.

I don't see why not.

Gloster made a Sparrowhawk which looked a little like a Sopwith Camel

Certainly a name up for reuse then  ;D

Miles made a Sparrowhawk too, it was a tiny single seat racer they built in 1935, and the pilot's seat was deliberately placed as low as possible with the decking cut down to reduce the drag.

Later on one of the six Sparrowhawks was converted to jet power, with two Turbomeca Palas jets, and that version actually won the Kings Cup race in 1957.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Shiny - I'd be up for quite a few.

If your working through Hawk names how about Chicken Hawk?

The aircraft has all the right properties, Small, adgile, packs a punch, is determined and has an attitude.

That looks like approprate decoration for one.  Of course, you need the name "Henry" on it since that's his name; I can see kill markings as Foghorn Leghorn heads ;).  I keep thinking of this conversion crossed with a Hawk 200 and/or both crossed with a T-45 and operating off smaller carriers.
