Is this a turbo Dakota or radial engines?

In order to keep it simple it will retain the Radial engines, although a Dart powered Dakota gunship
Flying in the late 50ies early 60ies has a certain attraction to it.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

A pair of Rolls-Royce Griffon engines might be a better option.

There was the Conroy Turbo-Three conversion in the 60s with Dart turboprops:

And the Basler BT-67 from the 90s with P&W turboprops, another remanufactured DC-3 - apparently a gunship version is used by Colombia.
