When one knows the answer reading the Britmodeller thread is so frustrating.
But also entertaining.
Some of them take things far too seriously.

Be good to see a new tool Battle  I'd like a decent "real world" build in the collection, the couple of Airfix kits in the stash could then get whiffed : radial engine'd one and maybe a Sea Battle" ?

Weren't there radial engined Battles in the RW?

They seemed to be the 'airframe of choice' for an engine testbed during WWII.

There was this RCAF one used in Canada. It used a Cyclone radial and I seem to remember reading that the radial was considered so valuable Merlins could be used elsewhere.

The P.24 Monarch powered, contra-prop equipped Battle could put the cat amongst the pigeons
with those unfamiliar with the aircraft. Especially in the US markings worn when tested at Wright
Field.

The Fairey P.12 Prince powered Twin Battle, which is actually an early proposal that predates the Battle would also be interesting.

Engines tested on Battle airframes include Rolls-Royce Exe, Napier Dagger, Napier Sabre, Bristol Taurus
and Bristol Hercules.

One of us on here built that one I think, or something close to it.

Kitbasher Dave perhaps?

Aye, Dave did it, but with  Merlins.

Hopefully, this time Special Hobby will use some decent plans, as opposed to last time, when it was no more accurate than the Airfix one.

Not me.  I don't post there.  I would probly cause upset.

I've seen test beds but not an operational type.

Was thinking radial engined type with turret as a torpedo bomber for the FAA and then Kitnut comes along with a real world turreted, radial Battle  ;D

Immediately made me think of a Commonwealth Woomera with Merlins. I like it!
