I've said it, and now I'm doing it. Managed to get an Aoshima Thunderbird 2 through a friend, and Canadair North Star decals from Belcher Bits, and we're off to the races! Pod is done, I did the outside of the door in a hi-viz scheme for safety.

I guess Flickr must be overloaded with people uploading Christmas photos, so I'll have to copy this from facebook for now. Just a test fitting, still a lot of painting and fiddling and swearing to do.

I loved Thunderbirds when i was a kid and that hasnt changed.
Ive still got 2 Thunderbird movies on one of my hard drives and this is a brilliant idea and damn it looks good .
Im pretty sure Gerry Anderson would be proud of this
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Yup, the facebook image link lasted shorter than my first date. Here we are with flickr:

The AK Interactive True Metal seems to be a bit more difficult to work with than the old Rub n' Buff, I'll keep trying to get better with it. Some areas look great, others look awful. Flat black is under all areas, so it isn't the base coat that's the problem. Hmmm...

Possibly it would work better with gloss black?

Not sure, this is the first time I've used a black undercoat. Never found it necessary with Rub n' Buff.

Oh, ok - I was thinking of what they recommended for the other system...  can't recall it at present, but the one where you rubbed metal powder into the black base - could well have been Rub 'n' Buff, come to think of it.
Or Metalizer...
