Yeah, tank interiors; Like "What the ...?" :o

However, there are some tanks, especially WW2 British & early US, which have BIG hatches on the turret & should be supplied with significant internal detail.

My big gripe, though, is all the APC's & similar which don't come with full internals for the troop & crew compartments, especially when they come with open-able hatches.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

In the stash I have a couple of 1/48 T34s with full interior detail (including engine and transmission).
I will build one and I will try to build and paint and weather all the interior but I will whinge like mad and gut the second one or kitbash it.
At least they have link and length tracks and not individual links.

Pretty much all APC type models suffer that annoyance wheeled or tracked..of course theres a couple which aren't but their the few amongst the many .
As for tanks ..yeah that very ture Guy..WW1 tanks have big hatches and because there on both sides in the same places you can see straight thru it..gotta have detail there and yup havent forgotten about the M3's ..i think Takom do a M3 with full interior detail.
Funny you mentioned the T34 Fred..i built a 1/16th Trumpeter T34-85 for a mate..full interior and of course fully painted and detailed and when it was said and done ya could see absolutely bugger all...most annoying.
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Way back when, when I was writing the English instructions for the Tamiya kits, they come up with their massive Tiger 1 tank, I think it was 1/21 scale, and it had a full interior. :(

It took for EVER to do the instructions as it was so complicated, and of course you couldn't see any of the interior when it was done. Madness.

It took so long that the first batch of kits that Riko distributed had photocopied versions of my typed instructions as they hadn't had time to get them printed!

Then afterwards they wanted me to saw the model in half so the interior WAS visible............  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Academy made a model of a M113 IFV which had a full interior and engine..had a couple of those ..very nice kits amd i think still available but i now live by a simple rule chaps..if i cant see it, then no one else will.
Im done wasting hours and hours of work for no benefit at all.
Theres a guy on youtube who was building a M4 easy eight with full interior detail..now if any of you guys have built a M4A3E8 you'll know that even with the hatches open you cant see a damn thing and the amount of work he put into it was just plain nuts..3 videos on just the interior alone and then he glued the upper hull  to the lower..a absolute waste of time.

I've always been taken with cutaway exhibits in museums.  Maybe that's the way to go.  Cut chunks off and paint the edges red.
You can see the insides plus there is no need for weathering.

I totally agree. But whenever I mention it, all I get is "But I know it's there", from the builder.  Like that's of any use, lol

Cut aways are cool as hell but when saw one done on a real T72 MBT and a T55 i was gob smacked..thats a massive amount of work and it was perfectly flat along the cut..its like they had been cut in half with a freakin laser..amazing.
Devil mate there's that whats the point thing again.."I know its there" is just plain stupidity ..oh yeah you know but no body else does and in most cases we do want other ppl to like what we've made so whats the sence of covering it up.
Oh ive built this super detailed big block V8 for my project car and it looks amazing..now im gonna weld the bonnet/hood shut. ..huh??  :o  :banghead:

When I was an apprentice at Pressed Steel we did that to an MGB, sawed it down the middle and painted the edges red.

Actually we took it apart first, sawed the various bits in half, and then put it back together, as it wouldn't fit through our largest band saw.....  ;D

Both halves of it are in the Museum at Gaydon now.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Luckly Kit it was only a MGB and not a MGBT V8 as im pretty sure you guys would have been hunted down ..theres some pretty serious blokes out there who are nuts about those cars   ;D
Im glad that car is still around mate..i hate seeing all that work going to waste and its probably depressing for the guys who did too.
Ya know ive never cut a car in half..ive crushed quite a few..a dream job i did for 2 months clearing an old wreakers yard  ;D
Crushed so many cars and a huge amount of them where English ..rusted to death and a 35 ton excarvator makes short work of flattening them  :wacko: :thumbsup:

I spent 18 months in that first job running crash tests. A better way of getting all your anxieties out of your head has not been invented.  ;D

Running a £20000 Daimler Majestic Major (in 1965 money) into a concrete block and watching it smash itself into smithereens is wonderful, AND I was being paid for it too!  :thumbsup:

It is great fun aint it ? ..its relaxing and a amazing stress release ..it like i hate minis and morris 1100's and pretty much all early model english cars ..like you I'll bet they where not fun to work on so getting the chance to smash and crush em was brilliant .
Hell i ran over so many just because they were so rusted i couldnt pick them up ..the excarvator did have a thumb but when you grab a roof and the rest of the car is left behind it makes for alot nore work..so crush it then pick it up..but its more fun to drive straight over it  :lol: :wacko:
