Re the corvair engine, is that the one where the fan belt is driven by a pulley on the end of the crank and then turns through 90 degrees to drive a horizontally mounted cooling fan on top of the engine?
Always thought it looked like a bad idea.

I was more restrained than usual at Model Expo today.  I bought nothing new from the traders in the exhibition hall and found the Swamp & Smell to be less tempting than usual.  Less interesting old stuff, more two or three year old kits being resold.  I think people finally got round to selling the interesting old stuff on e-bay during lock down.
The prices being asked for 1/25 car kits were mostly offensive.  Easy to resist when some muppet is asking $80.

I did grab these.

This was much more reasonable.  It's MPCs Dukes of Hazzard "Daisy's Roadrunner" reboxed.  Still has the appropriate (factory stock) transfers.  In Season one of the show she drove a Roadrunner before she got the Jeep she drove in later seasons.

I was looking at T-28 and T-35 kits on line last week but couldn't justify $80 or more for one.  This was half that.

This will be another Gee Beeski racer.  This time with an even bigger engine than the last one.

You've done well there Fred.

Particularly like the T-35 and the Scot's Grey brings back fond memories
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yes, that's the one (It's a Corvair actually....) and back in the 60s the fan belts cost a fortune and only one place in the entire country had them! Luckily I found a Bedford truck engine fan belt fitted and was LOTS cheaper, but then I'd already decided to sell the car. It was good fun to drive though, taught me how to handle oversteer............

Good haul there Fred, love the Roadrunner.

At today's Coventry Show I picked up two Airfix Swifts  (but more are always welcome Chris) a KP Tempest V, some Tamiya tape, some Swann Morton blades, and...........................

Oh yes, a tank transporter. Yes, really, it's GINORMOUS, and cost a fortune, but it'll be just the job to carry my Berlin Brigade Challenger 2, and it may give more mojo to finish the tank!

Yes, I know, I'm nuts!

And they're just as ginormous IRL.  Even empty, they need a oversize/overweight permits to run off post in the States.

It didn't cost me anything NEAR that much, not even half in fact.  ;D The guy really wanted rid of it, his had wife gaven him 'The Word'.  ;)

Looks like I'll have to modify the hell out of the trailer for it to be the same as the Brit ones

Yes, the King trailer is nothing like the US one apart from the basic structure. A whole new world for me!

I see some silicone rubber and some resin in my future, but a LONG way away. A census last night showed that there are SEVEN etched brass frets in the kit, and THIRTEEN sprue bags, and each bag has up to four sprues in it.

Went to my first show since lockdown at E Midlands - Got an La-11 for Tzar Bomba escort plane (real life) and a Spit PRXI for the Norwegian overflights of the USSR (real life) and some pre-war USAAC roundels decals for a Whitley that needs the gunship treatment (freighter nose with a battery of '50 cals) for the USA in WW2 on time build. Also a book on the current Argentine air forces. Good day out - and nice to see people again, lots of stranger things to do now.

With all that fun stuff to play with, sounds like there's no time to postpone, prevaricate or procrastinate, Kit! On with it! Chop! Chop! :tank: ;)
