I've been meaning to add one of the Tamiya Corsairs to my real world 1/48 collection (perhaps as one of the ones that served on the carrier my dad was on)  so is it as nice as they say ?

In my humble opinion the Tamiya 1/48 Corsairs are an ideal kit.  Easy to find at a reasonable price, many variants to choose from and a level of detail and ease of assembly that makes it a joy to build.  It was the first kit I built back in 2018 when I got back into building after about 8 years away from it.  I had very minimal tools and materials at that point and it was still a VERY easy and enjoyable build.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Oh, cool find! My personal design favorite among the Star Wars spaceships - who cam up with THIS? Reminds me that I also have one somewhere in The Stashâ„¢, too (as a part of a 3-kit-set, though), and that I have to build it some day...

Mmmmm, B Wing.  Under utilised in the original trilogy IMO.
I have a Bandai 1/72.  What scale is this?

Saw that on the Big H's site a short while back and was fascinated. How big is it ?

Hard to say while it's still unbuilt but (from memory) the box is about 40 x 30 x 10cm and there is not a lot of space.
The slightly disappointing thing about these kits is that the lift engine doors are moulded closed.  It's going to be a chore cutting them open and then scratchbuilding new doors.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Captain Canada

I snagged a bunch of HO scale railroad markings and one Boston and Maine hopper car. While not completely whifs, one of my new obsessions is photographing cars I see and trying to replicate them. Since I've never been a JMN, I can use pretty much any car to replicate the one's I like. Hopefully some day I can build a layout proper and do some railroading.

We are both very unobservant.

This is clearly stated the corner of the box in the photo I posted.

Quote from: Old Wombat on October 03, 2022, 07:31:12 PM1 x Takom Models 1/35 M114 Early & Late w/Interior [2 In 1] (TAK2154) - for RAM or Australian Army cav units
2 x Eduard Models 1/48 AIM-9B Sidewinder for Eduard kit (ED 648028) - 4 missiles per set, so 2 for the Valmet Kalpa (Sword) & 6 for other projects
1 x ICM Models 1/48 USAF Observation Aircraft Cessna O-2A Skymaster Late Production (ICM 48292) - possibly RAM's but more likely Army FO
1 x Academy Models 1/48 Hughes 500D Police Helicopter (AC 12249) - was looking for something cheap to make up the free postage amount & this looked like a likely fun subject, comes with & figure & a motorcycle

These arrived at the Post Office yesterday & were picked up today.

The M114 looks very good in the box, very good, crisp detail & "Oh, Joy!" link-&-length tracks!
The Sidewinders are, like the previous set I bought, excellent representations of the subject.
The O-2A Skymaster looks excellent, like the M114 it has nice, sharp detail & no flash. ;D
The Hughes 500D .... is not as good as the other kits, not bad but not up to the standard of the other two, should still build into a decent model & includes two decent pilot figures.
The included motorcycle & rider are a step down from the main kit, the bike being only about 2 pieces (maybe 3) to build & the rider is similar, & both seem to have rather soft detail.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

Had a very nice surprise turn up today and didn't even know it was coming.
A mate down south sent me a 1/35th Zevzda MSTA-S 152mm SPG .
He started it and left it for ages..knew I loved big guns and bingo bango its now mine  ;D
Guy ive had nearly all of Academys Hughes 500 choppers..it's one of my favs ..it's a bloody old kit mate ..that will be the reason for the detail issues..oh lookout when fitting the wind screen..that can be a real pain in the soft parts.
