Did  you finish it in 2022? I'm tempted to nominate it for the annual Whiffie awards

I think it's more to do with when a build is posted rather than when it's completed ? If it's posted after the previous years nominations have closed then it's fine.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Must admit I've often wondered why the Corsair saw post War service and the Hellcat didn't.

my guess is it could do ground attack better than the Hellcat.
The Leng Plateau is lovely this time of year

Chance Vought carried on developing the Corsair after WWII, whereas Grumman switched production to the Bearcat.

It was a similar philosophy difference to those of Supermarine and Hawker.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Well, radar-equipped F6F-5Ns remained in US service as late as 1954 as night fighters. And Hellcats were operated after WWII for some time by France (esp. in Indochina from 1950 to 1952) and Uruguay, who operated them until the early 1960s.
