Yes, I was pretty certain it had been done, I even commented on that thread way back when.   Mine will be a more straightforward conversion, might get the gear on later today.

You fill your boots!  Always good to see multiple takes on a particular theme/idea.

Indeed, and the site is so good for cross fertilisation and inspiring others
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Silver finish overall, still think that Rub n' Buff is better than AK Paste, but it is what it is. Undercarriage frame bodged, decaling begun, bracing wires threaded. Starboard decal split into 3 pieces, but I've managed to slide them all together. There will be a noticable 'glitch' in it, maybe I'll write it into the back story. I seem to recall that some aircraft of that era had the roundels well toward the wing tip, so that's what I did. Plus I like the way it looks. MFM!

So do I!  ;D ;D ;D  The plan will be to apply glue to one end, hoping it doesn't melt the very thin stretched sprue, stretch it gently, and glue the other end, then tighten it with heat. I anticipate much swearing.

Funny that Ratty..i anticipate a heap of swearing too.
In fact i think i might invent a few new ones and the sprue stretching will annoy me to no end cause being a padantic pain in the arse i will want all the sprue to same thickness..so glad i have a heap of spure to play with..im gonna need it.

Devilfish

I've got a 1/48 scale one in my stash, missing its floats, so thought about making a missing link to the Spitfire with it. I like what you're doing!

I rig aircraft with Ezi Line elastic thread.  Since starting using it I wouldn't consider using anything else that doesn't stretch.
