Hi all,
And now for something completely different!  ;D
AMT-ERTL 1/6 Han Solo box by Zac Yates, on Flickr

A few years ago a friend sold me this box very cheap, and inside was enough for two full figures except the boots for one (as pictured below). As you can see the box art does not do the mould justice as it is very well sculpted.

Only a few minutes cutting, filing and some CA resulted in this:

Not a bad fit but definitely room for improvement. I'm using Vallejo Plastic Putty for the gaps and seams.

Well, I thought it was funny!  ;D

As there's 1.75 Han Solos in the box I have a cunning plan: the full figure will be the classic character from the original film, while the bootless parts of the second will be a bust of older Han from the 2015 sequel film The Force Awakens.

I've never painted a figure of this size but I have plans and ideas. Stay tuned!

Or just make some castings of the original boots. Or maybe some different boots. Somehow 30 years later he seemed to be wearing the same clothes......

Terrible box art but the model does actually look like him.

Is this particularly valuable?  I'd imagine Star Wars collectors would want one.  Which means all the more reason to whiff it.
Bravo.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

looking good so far,   i would recomend ( speaking from persomal experiance here ) putting some stiff wire ( an old coathanger or so ) down the legs as support, as a sunny day will soften the vinyl enough for the kit to bend in all the wrong places, in all the wrong ways  :-\
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

.

I was going to say exactly the same thing.

Crotch looks a tad tight
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I had a 35th scale Hunter Killer vinyl model from the first Terminator movie and ohh that was not fun.
As you guys said..i had to brace the hell out of it cause the wings and tails would droop under their own weight.
Wise words to follow Zac mate  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .
