BAC/Tupolev Drakon. Part of my reverse Cold War Scenario which occurred following the death of Stalin, the inevitable struggle for power, a series of bloody uprisings in Russian occupied Europ and,the
final collapse of Communism in 1957. The USA meantime has morphed into a brutal, xenophobic Fascist dictatorship and, become the bad guy!! (No offence to our American friends but, this IS "what if world"!)
Anyhow, although not developed as a strike aircraft, Russia (and the UK)recognised its potential as a long range interceptor and, it became a joint development.
Thus was born the Drakon ( Dragon)
Anyway, thats the boring bit out of the way. Basic kit is the Airfix 1/48 TSR.2
Extended nose is made out of an old drop tank.
Extended wings salvaged from the carcass of of an Italeri KC-135. The wing fences very conveniently hide the joint!!
Underwing drop tanks are the smaller drop tanks from the Revell (Italeri) Mirage IIIE
I have no Russian AAMs in my spares department so, I just used a batch of AIM-4 Falcon and, AGM -78 missiles with a bit of cosmetic surgery! pylons are from the spares box.
23mm cannon pod was out of the spares box.
I hate decal stencilling which, is why I opted for the Red Star version. The neat little Dragon insignia is from the Revell TU-22 Blinder

Now that's a really interesting looking aircraft
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That's a very nice piece of work,  and a backstory that leaves all sorts of whiffery open.

Indeed! Such as RAF MiG 19s,Royal Navy SU-22!😉😊.
I think the big Sukhoi in particular would look gorgeous in EDSG/White.

If I may quote one of our esteemed contributors : " any aircraft may be improved by fitting longer wings"!
I kind of feel that TSR. 2 with , its silly little wings is the aviation equivalent of a woman without a bra! No visible means of support.....! 😉😂

Those mods and the paint job really make it look Russian! Nice work!

Works the other way. too.    A Javelinski, perhaps?  I agree that most aircraft look good in ESDG over white.

You may, and you'd be dead right in this case, it looks the BUSINESS!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That is just kickarse..pure and simple..longer wings nailed it and the weapons choice is bang on too.
Ratty is right with the Whiffie..couldn't agree more
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Very nice!  The paint scheme really suitable for TSR2 too

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Damn Fred...damn is a understatement by the way
That looks pure russian which means it looks far better than it actually is
