Round One of the 2022/2023 GB Subject Poll - pick up to 15 for entry into Round 2

They are basically in the order in which they were suggested.

I've included nearly all the suggestions made but have merged a couple of very similar ones so as not to dilute their vote.

Now I've given you 15 votes, although you don't have to use them all, and I will put 15 or so through to the second round. Not fixing the number now as I don't want to be too harsh and drop things that only narrowly miss the "cut".

If you want to see more details and/or read the discussion it can be found via the link below.

https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=50310.0

I'll leave it open for a 10 days or so and organise round 2 on or around 1st April.

Thanks for all the work, Chris.
And thanks for the link, I cannot answer there as the topic is now locked.  <_<
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Thank you Chris.  Despite the distraction of your attendance at the 2022 Whiffies, you have still managed a tremendous amount of work.

Strange, a post of mine seems to have disappeared, maybe I previewed andforgot to reclick.
Excuse me, but don't you think that

Raiders of the spare parts bin
Scrapheap Challenge GB

are more or less the same?

PR19_Kit

Jeepers, that wasn't easy, but I did manage 15 choices, while laughing hysterically at some of them.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes and no. I really thought long and hard about combining them, but in the end decided to keep them separate, although I'm not sure I made the correct decision ? However at the end of the day I do rationalise them as being slightly different :

"Raiders" of the Spare Parts Bin to my mind is models that are completed/built from parts and pieces LEFT OVER from previous builds, whereas "Scrapheap Challenge" is for models constructed from previous builds that have been SCRAPPED. Apologies if I've been to pedantic, but I did spend a fair bit of time thinking about it.

Perhaps "Scrapheap Challenge" could include models that look like they were built from other scrapped vehicles or other debris. To get that look a person would have to make use of scrapped models and other materials like sheet plastic and found objects. I don't mean to start a big discussion just something I was thinking of.

It may well be that when I get to organising the second round of voting that I include a combined Raiders of the Spare Parts Bin/Scrapheap Challenge category ? I leave myself a little bit of flexibility when it comes to organising Round 2, so I may well use it. We shall see, but I must admit that is the way my thoughts are leaning at the moment. Plus I've just realised I did something similar last year.
