Just so as to give you lot out there in the Peanut Gallery more ammunition I blutac-ed the vertical tails on.  They will be cut down somewhat and positioning isn't finalised...

Kit and i agree..its getting better and better Fred..lovin the tails and their placement is pretty sweet where they are..agreed about the height ..need a wee bit of height reduction but the weird thing its still looks kinda cool like that 
That Flash Gordon ship is very cool..if ya built it as a Flash Gordon ship are ya gonna make it sound like a sick vacuum cleaner

On the contrary, I approve the big height of these fins, as their "lever arm" (distance from the center of gravity) is very small so: to be efficient they need a bigger size than usual.

Ahhh but on the contrary Tophe my good fellow  ..
if the tails are to tall then they will be weaker and prone to over flexing in high G maneuvers which will cause stress cracks in the inner structure which will lead to total failure .
Freds Harpy looks like it could dance in flight and a 9 G turn would be on the cards..those tails wouldnt handle 9G for very long..we have to deal with the exact thing with rc planes and our planes can out maneuver any real aircraft..we still have to deal with structure failure .
Ive had aircraft break up in flight because they were doing things they you couldnt handle...bloody great fun tho
