Javelin Homeland Defense Interceptor

I ran across this while searching for information about the Gloster Javelin.  Shortly after 9/11, ATG proposed arming a variant of their two-seat personal jet as a lightweight day-fighter.  The idea is that a smaller aircraft could take over interception duties from USAF F-15 and F-16 squadrons.  I find this a little ironic, since the F-16 was originally designed as a lightweight cannon and 2 AAM fighter itself.  I wonder if anyone makes a model of this.

Interesting concept. I wonder if the zoomies would go for it?
Did you also note the last line of the article - they propose a UAV version.

There are also other interesting articles with what-if potential - Czech Antonov transports, Czech L159s as trainers, NATO-compatible MiG 21s, US101. I shall bookmark that site. Thank you for pointing it out!
