You could have a Sky Hook Arm fitted in the upper cargo bay (spine), you can either move them out of the way  or return them back to Earth when you land.

Wardukw

Isnt that bloody typical..i think ive come up with an idea and nope..not new at all bloody asians  ;D
Good on em..that would be alot of math there thats for sure  <_<
A sky hook wouldnt work on this plane mate..this thing cant fly into a low earth orbit which like 150+ kms up ..outter space ..she flies right on the edge of space almost and launches the missiles from there..the missiles themselves uses solid fuel ..no air needed for that .
The fun part for me is to build 4 ASMs which look different from a normal large aircraft launched misslies.

Remember it's your build, whatever you decide this lot will back you.  With me I don't have a clear picture of what the builds will be.

And then we have Elon Musk and his hundreds of Starlink satellites!

With the amount of satellites that are up there flying anything around up there at some point will be bloody near impossible with out dedicated flight paths if and when we try the moon thing .

Oh trust me buddy im am like that with most of my builds ..the only one where a plan was made and stuck too was my M88A3-1..the only mod to that build was the luggage rack.
Even this build hasnt found it final look yet. ;D

I bet the missile could spread a net for catching a satellite in a bag. Then the momentum of the missile (still attached to the bag) would drag the satellite into the atmosphere. Or perhaps it is bedtime for me?

Wardukw

No not bedtime yet   ;D
I have thought about a net of some sort ..my problem is trying to figure out how it would work..speed being the problem.
The missile would need the ability to match the speed of the satellite ..catch it and then speed up again to pull it out of LEO ..if its a HEO ..high earth orbit ...the problems could be worse ..distance wise which could be many hundreds of extra kms.
I think to be able to do this it would need to be a rocket instead of a misslie.

This is a cool design. If you want a sci-fi engine, look into a 178m2Hafnium isomer powered design. Sadly, it's not real.

Wardukw

I read that Franky mate and while trying to get my head around it ive figured in laymens terms its like a shot of nitrous oxide into a cars engine but in this case its a nuclear engine and the shot is this Hafnium isomer..ummmmm maybe ?
Ok it appears for now its there and its not there..some say they did and others say it cant be done and then ya got DARPA saying its not really worrh it.
Now 140+ yrs into the future ..this is  very very likely possible if not been done ..well when we get there..wont be any of us tho  :lol:
My problem is what the hell this engine would look like and dew to the extremely harmful radiation how thick would the shields or would it have or need a shield..i suck at sci if by the way  ;D

i did find again a very cheap plane ..a MIG29 ,,as it turns out ...another bingo baby moment ,and so on and so forth from here ,,
Hard to recognize a MiG-29 in the SR-71-like model, but McColm has demonstrated the same with a F-16, so it is proven possible. Congratulations to both of you :thumbsup:
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Wardukw

Thanks Tophe mate  ;D
That Mig gave up it afterburners ..landing gear and the nose landing gear bay...was cheaper to buy this than to buy aftermarket parts.

Missile (possibly a UASV - Unmanned AeroSpace Vehicle) is launched;
Grabs satellite via whatever means conceived;
Returns to Earth under parachute.

Simples! ;)

Simples yes but  :lol:
I was thinking about sizes of satellites..theres little ones and others which weight over 8 tons..im thinking a reusable rocket to save a satellite ..missiles to destroy em ..in the military mind collateral damage is acceptable when its tasked with taking something very high on the dead list..russian or Chinese or who ever ..and if somebodys satellites are near by which the military deem as unimportant ..oh dear..so sad ..never mind
Any military with the power and skills will know every single satellite and who owns em...actually Guys idea is a good in cause if ya wanted to steal a enemies satellites that would be a perfect way to do it. :thumbsup:

Thanks for the idea that's forming in my head, why not use a Space Shuttle kit (kitbashed). 'Space Junk Salvage Ltd '. This will be a future build along with the Shuttle Space Plane carrying tourists.

Wardukw

Your most welcome McColm mate  ;D i love it when one nut bar idea leads to another  ;)
