Looks like a whole lot of work there Lee. And good work too.

Couldn't of put it better

I really do admire people who can visualise what an apparently completely disparate collection of bits will look like when finished and then actually do it  I can get no where near visualising it, let alone putting them together.

It's probably down to all the years spent playing with Lego.

What kind of putty do you use?  I'm buying shares next week!   ;)

Seriously though, the fairing behind the cockpit really helps the look of the high mounted wing.  Watching with interest.

Either Humbrol or Revell.  Usually whichever one Uncle Frank has in stock when I need it.  TBH, I prefer the Revell.

Coming from one of the Masters, that is high praise indeed.

The first lot of filler has been sanded back and the second coat applied judiciously.

Part of me is tempted with an open cockpit.

Quite possibly Lee. Back in my day it was Meccano

Masters? Hardly, but thanks anyway.  ;D

I have ZILLIONS of failure on my Shelves of Doom back home,, or rather BOXES of Doom!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Quantum theory states that if you can imagine it, it will exist in one of the infinite parallel universes (hopefully, there's one where Ed Sheeran was told he was crap and not given a record contract.  Sadly that's not the case here and my ears are repeatedly raped by his music, and that of his poundland copycat, Lewis Capaldi).

Yes, it's a whiff.

Having looked again at the wings and compared them to a Lightning, they're roughly the same size.  I think I'll be keeping them.

I respectfully disagree about Ed.

On another note, I'm one of the few Yanks that was fortunate to be forewarned about Poundland, and here in the States we have DollarTree.

Facebook kills the link after a week.  You need to be quick.  There's an update in about 30 mins.

The Wooksta!

Latest progress with the BAC1121.

Filler sanded back.  Hmm.  Not smooth enough.

More filler.

View of the nosegear bay.  Needs boxing in.

As if by magic... Sanded back and primed.

That yawning chasm needs some filler.

Two views of my tragi-comic attempt at intake ducting.

Looks to be taking shape, although something is bothering me.

Whiteout.  Decided to use white primer here - couldn't find the grey.

Final sanding? No, but the fuselage at this stage is getting there.  Much more filling to do soon.  Nose - fuselage, wing - fuselage, spine, and then the undercarriage module.  I'll likely leave that until last to minimise the likely near certainty that one or both maingears will get knocked off.

Cockpit just about finalised externally, although lots more to do internally.  The ragged filler work will be buried anyway, so I'm not to worried.

Smile!  It's a bit wonky in many ways, but give a better view of the intake ducting with the splitter plates in.

That's a big sneck!  Looking less like a Hunter and something far more unique, especially with the canopy in place.

Better view.  The tape is hiding the area I need to fill, plus more besides.

And finally...

Held together by strategic bits of tape and gravity.  Looks a lot better than this time last week.  TBH, I'm still not sure of the wing and may move it back about a cm as I don't like the area around the cockpit.

And so endeth today's odysey.

I see lots of pic's, unfortunately a touch over-sized for my screen; so I have to click on one & flick through them that way.
