Not my intention at all, my friend but it do admit, it's one of the things i really appreciate in living in the south of Portugal. I'm a skinny guy so i get very cold very easily.  ;D

So, after the disastrous start of the bench session with the F-16W, i turned to this one while the CA glue applied on the F-16 dries up.
Now, let's see if i manage to get the decals on without destroying this model... :-\

I'm a tubby guy and I still get chilly easily  ;D  Mind you it's just another sign of age, never used to believe my dad, but it's true.

We never listen to them when we're young, do we?

So, i guess i've managed to redeem myself a bit from messing up the F-16... the Hunter's decals are finished...

Tomorrow morning i'll give it another gloss coat to seal in the decals and let it dry during the afternoon so it'll be ready for a wash after dinner...

Well, as always, real life got in the way and i had less time so instead of spraying a gloss coat on the model, i've finished the load out...

AGM-65F Maverik (Maritime strike variant)
AIM-9JULI (P modernized with L seeker head and software)
870L ext. fuel tanks

Tomorrow i also have to leave the house for some errands but i'm hoping to have some free time in the afternoon so, i may get something done, we'll see...

So, i ended up having time to spray a gloss coat on the model and small bits so they're ready for a panel line wash..

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Managed to get a wash down on this one... will try to clean it off tonight. After it's clean, it's time for some oils to weather it a bit.

Yesterday i got the wash cleaned off so today i gave it a weathering session...

Pic of the top doesn't show much but i tried to restrain myself from overdoing it and i think i've managed to achieve that but there's still a lot to learn... Now i have a confession to make...   when i got back in the hobby and became aware of the weathering process and the materials used for it, i'd thought i'd never be weathering my models... This was my second attempt at it doing right and i'm enjoying it much more than i ever thought i would so, it's something i'll definitely be doing on future builds... maybe not all of them but a fair few will be well oiled up... ;D

Getting the weathering right is both an art form & a joy all of its own, although cleaning up & re-doing failed attempts can be infuriating.

Just remember to use paints/washes/etc. that don't use the same solvent base as your clear coat (don't ask  ).

Well, the Hunter is on it's final assembly stages...
Sprayed a flat coat yesterday, using Mr.Color GX114 super smooth flat varnish after making sure the oils were all properly dry and everything went according to plan. The flat coat did come out super smooth as the name says so this may have dethroned the Tamiya XF-86 flat clear for me.

Still, i had to figure out a way to replicate the nose gear aft door actuators as there are none in the kit...

The brass wires took care of that and maybe today i'll have some time after work to assemble the rest of the bits on, give it a few final touch-ups and remove the canopy masks...
