But  BP P111 is sort of squashed in the nose, and a Lightning is anything but.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I may have to invent some suitably garish squadron markings for this.  Tartan maybe...

It's a good book.  I recommend it.  It's whifspirational.
For example, I never knew there was a real non turreted Defiant fighter proposal.

Dug out the Tamiya Stinky Yellow putty and  filled some gaps today.
Then I dropped it and the fin came off...
